Guest guest
Sorry to hear that you can't eat potatoes . I find a huge salad with a baked potato doesn't give me any reactions. The same for brown rice..with half the dish being veggies there doesn't seem to be a reaction for me. I do however get reactions when most of the meal is just rice or potatoes and also I try to avoid white rice. Guest guest
Every single one of the foods you mention below are VERY high carb! They all turn to sugar in system. (I can't/won't eat ANY of them any more as I value my life.. Sorry..) Again, see Dr. Atkins' carb counter and read your labels. Honestly, I used to play around with all that high carb stuff. Even after my diagnosis of systemic fungus, almost 8 years ago! 'Course did it in ignorance, not really knowing what systemic really meant and how even eating quinoa and other " seed grains " was feeding the fungus all along! Now that I am very strict with what I eat and make it taste good, the far better health I am enjoying is reward in itself. I don't need and don't even crave things I used to eat that made me sick. Don't miss 'em 'cause I don't miss being sick! :>) :>) :>) Also, the taste buds ADJUST to being without the " sweets. " They really do! A lot of what is going on is the fungus literally screaming to be fed! WHEN we stave it out by denying it its food source, it " dies off " and the cravings, lo and behold, die too! In other words, we do not crave the sweets anymore when we have given them up for long enough. As a matter of fact, any sweets become " too sweet " to tolerate. Sugar is an addiction. Dr. Atkins called it the " quintessential anti-nutrient. " I agree. It is poison to the body in myriad ways. Sure the body needs carbs. But most Americans are hooked on sweets. NOT good! Hope this helps!!! We want you WELL! ~Louise ________________________________ From: Gutierrez <brolyssj4_mzc@...> candidiasis Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 6:15 PM Subject: Re: high carb veggies oh i see so smaller portions of one of the following per meal, potatoes( red potatoes) and rice (brown rice) and what about legumes like lentils and pinto beans? Guest guest
Hi , I've found that eating carbs with lots of veggies has worked well for me provided that at least half the meal is veggies...preferably 70%. I believe this works for me since pulling out of a systemic fungus condition which I had several years ago. - - - It's somewhat unproductive to say, as you mention below, that if anyone can eat fruit, etc from your list below then they don't have candida. The point of this forum is for each of us to bounce constructive observations off each other so we can chisel out a diet that works for us. words from your own recent post: " just watch what it does to your body, your body will tell you! " Willem From: Everett <louise_everet93@... <mailto:louise_everet93%40> > Subject: Re: Candida Diet " candidiasis <mailto:candidiasis%40> " <candidiasis <mailto:candidiasis%40> > Date: Wednesday, April 27, 2011, 2:33 PM From a number of you who have been posting I just wanted to clarify a couple things.. IF IF IF you REALLY have a candida/fungus issue, then: * potatoes are taboo * ANYthing high carb is taboo * like fruit * like high carb veges * like grains (yes even quinoa, amaranth, millet and buckwheat).
