Guest guest
I made my first batch of Super tonic and wondered if I should just leave it in the jar until I need to use it or if I should go ahead and strain it leaving only the liquid. Would you use a shot glass to take? Full shot glass and how many times a day? Lastly, my hubby cut himself last night. So I grabbed the cayenne pepper to put on the cut. How long to you leave it on? Do you bandage with the cayenne pepper still on the cut or do you rinse of after a minute or two? Thanks for your help, Barb FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click. If it has been going for several weeks than go ahead and strain and bottle it. Dehydrate the pulp and powder it for a real spicey spice. You can take as much as you can stand. Most take a tablespoonful or two twice a day if needed. You can take more. You can take it daily or use it only when you feel like you are getting less than optimal health wise (like coming down with a cold or something). Sorry to hear about DH cutting himself. The cayenne does wonders at stopping the flow of blood. Once the bleeding has stopped then go ahead and rinse if out, carefully. Depending on the severity of the cut you may decide not to bandage it and allow air and sun to get to it. It will heal much better and more quickly that way. If it is quite deep and nasty then you may wish to bandage it of course. Don't bandage with the cayenne in it. If it starts bleeding then remove the bandage and add the cayenne again and leave it exposed until the bleeding stops. HTH. -- Peace be with you, Barb. Guest guest
The longer you let it sit with the mash and all the better it will be. Two weeks is the rule of thumb. We keep ours with the mash, and have a little strainer that fits into the jar that we push down into the mash and in the center of the strainer the liquid forms (does that make any sense? I can never tell.) Don't waste the mash, though. If you have a dehydrator, dry it out and pulverize/powder it. Makes a great condiment, and some of us use it as a snuff for sinus infections (with lots of comic relief. The jumping up and down flapping the arms is HILARIOUS!!) My wife and I take between three and five dropperfull every morning, and a couple in the evening. Our 8 yr old son takes two dropperfulls every morning, in a glass of water. During times of distress, bronchitis or some such, we take it like water, as often as we can. As for the cayenne powder to stop bleeding, I usually just keep it in till the bleeding stops, then wash the wound with Tonic, and cover as appropriate.
