Good Morning All,

Hope this day finds you all well. Hopefully, and my email are doing okay now and yes Suzi, things started coming in but way out of order :)

Speaking of Kombucha, I tried many many years ago to make it and failed. I ended up getting a ton of fruit flies and had to pitch it. Actually it was my ex husband of all people that had given me the mushroom. Not sure how well he did with his though as I know he does not use it.

Where does one get the mushroom? I'd love to try if it would get me off coffee and give me more energy.

Well, today I am taking my son to the doctor for a physical. He does not look well and is literally just skin on top of bones. Barely eating and so many more things. I am trying hard here. I've been testing his blood glucose with Papa's meter and though I am not a doctor and cannot rely on the accuracy of it. His blood sugar has been in the 30 range for the past couple of weeks that I have been testing it.

I have a huge pot of chicken soup that has been cooking for almost 7 hours LOL. I made him taste it last night and he said it tasted like water. Hard to cook when one is not tasting. I bought parsnips ( geez how does one eat these..blech) and I also bought a celery knob..root? It is funny because I have heard it mentioned here and I just figured ya'll were talking about the bottom of the stalk. I just happened to pick up a wierd looking ball and the girl in produce told me what it was. It is very bitter and Ant not liking celery, I just put a little in the food processor with the parsnips and red bell pepper and chopped it up well and added it. Oh and I bought a turnip figuring it looked kinda potato like. I have never had one of those I don't think.

I almost bought one of those brussel sprout stalks that I had mentioned earlier but figured that the stalk would be wasted. Right? They are selling for 3.99 each anyway. I like the way it looked. My beloved guinea pig would have had a field day with that :)

OK I really did want to say good morning and mention the Kombucha :)

Have a beautiful and blessed day all

Hi Candace and all,I'm new to this list so I don't know what all has been discussed since I haven't had a chance to check back a few months. But I've been reading about the juice fasting here and was wondering if anyone ever mentioned Kombucha Tea? All this constipation and problems with energy, etc. Kombucha Tea will take care of both. I'm not saying it's a cure all for everything but it will certainly help the body and it's also a detox. I've been drinking Kombucha Tea for 8 months now and I have more energy than I've ever had. I used to drink 2 pots of coffee a day, the tea has curbed my appetite for coffee and I average 2 cups a day, just because I like it. Some days I don't have any, and no withdrawal symptoms. It also curbs the appetite for sweets. I used to eat M & M Peanuts every night at work, I haven't had them now in months and don't crave them. Ice cream was another thing I felt I couldn't live without, haven't had that in months either. If you want energy without the nervousness of coffee, try the tea, it definitely won't hurt you. Shari knows, she drinks it.Just my opinion,Judy

Well, Tina is the kombucha expert. She has a bathtub filled with it and scobys (the mushrooms) in her backyard. She uses it for bathing as well as drinking. Personally I drink it, water my plants, grind the scoby and mix with coconut oil for my skin, I pour it over my hair and we use it for scrapes, cuts, burns, you name it. Some folks eat the scoby or feed it to their animals. I don't care for the texture and the dog won't touch it. He will however drink the tea.

You can buy starter kits on line or join a kombucha list and ask for someone to mail you one. You can usually get one for the cost of shipping. I got mine that way and if I had any extras I would gladly mail you one, but right now I'm trying to up my production and all mine are in use.

Tone, I will have a scoby to share in a few weeks if you pay shipping. I am making several jars at this time and they seem to be growing quickly in this wonderful weather.

There, you didn't ask!

Hi Shar,

Hope this day finds you and Joe and the kids all well. Have you noticed any benefits from using the tea on your skin and hair?

I'll check around online to see what I can come up with. I am not too good at asking people for things...besides advice anyway :)

Thanks

Have a beautiful day

LOL! You actually can, but I choose to keep mine seperate! It is the same "recipe" for bathing as drinking.
