Guest guest
In reply to the mother of the adopted toddler from Ethiopia. I feel for you and am praying for you. We adopted an older child who had severe attachment issues and I wouldn't rule that out just yet but you are onto the right topic of a biological issue. Our biological 8 year old was sick a few years with things mainstream doctors couldn't figure out. I highly recommend a functional medicine pediatrician who will run some stool tests on the child. There is a viral overgrowth (diarrhea is the symptom..).and most likely parasites you haven't been able to get rid of yet. With all the antiobiotics there is most likely a yeast overgrowth. Yeast can cause all kinds of behavioral problems as can viral infection. Check out Dana's View on the web for ways YOU can start treating the yeast and virus' . Also Bodyelectrician.com can give you some help You can call wil Spencer on the phone. Elevated liver enzymes can mean one of the hepatitis' but you've probably already been told that. Goggle functional medicine pediatricians and go to the closest one to you. If you are on the east coast there is a good doctor named peter Prociuk. Read his stuff. Hope this leads you in the right direction. DO NOT take on the mother guilt. adoption is not for the faint of heart. It is hard hard work and the child seems to target the mother at every corner. People tend to pick up on the negative vibe and target the mother as well. Parenting an adopted child is different than parenting a biological child especially in families where there is a mix of bioloical and adopted. You are a gift from God! You are loved and doing a very good thing! This child is blessed to have you as a mother. Katy
