Guest guest
Has anyone ever tried the Feingold Diet? I am considering putting my kids on this diet to see if it helps with the symptoms of ADD. I haven't tried it but I know someone who did. She had 5 kids, one of them with severe ADD. She got tired of the drug route and put the whole family on the Feingold diet (she wasn't about to cook different food for everyone, so they all ate it). She said it really worked and definitely got the ADD under control. Gloria
Guest guest
Hi Rose, I tried that briefly a few years back. Here's a site you may want to look at, if you haven't already found it. http://www.enzymestuff.com/dietsfg.htm I remember thinking that if I take gluten, casein, soy, corn, and saylicates out of his diet-all he would end up being able to eat were pears and rice. What's going to happen with a long term diet like that? There are enzymes that help with phenol(saylicates are a sub group of phenols) intolerance. Kirkmans makes one and Houston Nutraceuticals does also. I know if you ask Houston, they will send you samples. My son uses the Houston enzymes and seems to be doing nicely on them. No more aggression or frustration and it's only been a couple of months (if that long). HTH Ann > > Hi All, > Has anyone ever tried the Feingold Diet? Guest guest
Rose I have done this diet ( a combination of the Feingold, Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Sara's Diet and G/F C/F) with my son. I the list of foods they give to avoid is valuable. They also go into soaps, hair products and so on that your child maybe reacting to. I didn't renew my membership since all I wanted was the list of things to avoid and why. Now that we do allergy corrections with a form of kinesiology I don't see the same negative reactions when my son eats something off the list. I pray this helps MarilynRose Baumann <rose@...> wrote: Hi All,Has anyone ever tried the Feingold Diet? I am considering putting my kids on this diet to see if it helps with the symptoms of ADD. Guest guest
This helps a lot, Marilyn. Thanks! What is the kinesiology for allergies all about? I'm interested in hearing more. Guest guest
Certainly makes sense to put the whole family on this diet. My husband will moan and groan more than the kids, I'm sure. LOL! Thanks, Gloria!RoseOn Oct 25, 2005, at 4:23 PM, MorningGlory113@... wrote:Has anyone ever tried the Feingold Diet? Guest guest
Hi Rose, He eats whole foods, fruits, fresh vegetable juice(only because he won't eat vegetables anymore),very little meat and eggs ,nuts, cultured dairy, and sprouted wheat/spelt flour from this place: http://www.creatingheaven.net/eeproducts/eesfc/index.html He was GFCF for 2-3 years and I saw some improvment but it was a constant battle having my husband and daughter keep stuff away from him. With the enzymes, he is doing as good as he ever has and I can't tell you how much stress has been relieved since I don't have to shadow everybody around here and keep tabs on who eats what. He takes all 3 of the Houston enzymes. Good luck, Ann > > Thank you, Ann! Do you do any dietary intervention now, or do you > simply use the enzymes? I've heard good things about No-Fenol.
