Guest guest
Hi TW, I think you should begin detoxing now. It is never too late to start, and never too early to begin. Detoxing takes many different forms in terms of specific things you can do, but in general the idea is to quit putting toxic things in, and helping your body to eliminate what is there. So, with that in mind, here are a few tips, pursuing the first goal of stopping the influx of toxins into your body: Change your diet. This requires committment to eliminating: pesticide laden foods (any fruits or vegetables not farmed organically) foods with chemical preservatives foods that are full of empty calories and are taxing to the immune system (primarily sugar, but also white flours and heavily processed food products), foods with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils foods that create an allergic reaction (this is an individual matter, but common allergenic foods are wheat, eggs, corn, dairy) , animal foods that have not been raised properly (meaning the supermarket beef that has been pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. Buy free range meats only) ditto dairy products (those antibiotics and hormones are in the milk too), In general, you will find that the healthiest foods are those that have not been processed in any way. The rule of thumb is to eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. Evaluate your personal care products. The skin is one of our eliminative organs, and also very effectively absorbs what we put on it. The goal here is to avoid putting additional toxins in our body by only using personal care products that are not laden with unnecessary chemicals. A rule of thumb is "put it on your skin only if you would also put it in your mouth." That may be a little extreme, but is a valid rule of thumb! For instance, instead of using a manufactured moisturizer, you can use olive oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil, with added essential oils. All of these oils are healthy oils that the body can use in a beneficial way, instead of having to try to break down toxic compounds that may be found in commercial moisturizers. You may want to change your toothpaste, your shampoo, conditioner, hair coloring products, lotions, and anything else you slather on your body. Drink pure, filtered water. Tap water can no longer be trusted to be safe in many parts of the country. Chlorine is added, as well as flouride, in most municipal water districts, and both of these chemical additives are toxic. There is also concern that as our society has become drug dependent, these drugs are showing up in our water supplies--things like antibiotic residues, birth control residues, every kind of drug that may be flushed down the toilet. Water flushes our bodies and helps in the process of detoxing, but if we don't use pure water, we may in fact be adding in more toxins and creating additional burdens. Use water that has been purified through distillation, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet light, and ozonated. There are additional concerns (such as making sure your home environment is not outgassing toxic chemicals from things like plywood, pressboard, fake wood cabinets, and dry cleaned clothes), but it can get to be a little too overwhelming. My suggestion is to just make sure your home is filled with plants that are great at cleaning the air. One great book for ideas is called "How to Grow Fresh Air" by Dr. BC Wolverton. This is the first part of detoxing....stopping the inflow. The next step is to help your body in its effort to eliminate the toxins that are stored and being created through metabolism, and there are many things you can do to accomplish that. I've posted an article before on detoxing, so I'll give the link again...it is a great overview. www.chetday.com/spencedetox.html This can get you started anyway, and I know from experience that just making the change in diet is a huge one that takes many little steps. I doubt that a doctor will be able to help you anymore than you can help yourself, unless they are a naturopathic physician, and you feel the need for supervision during your detoxing effort. Otherwise, most doctors are woefully ignorant of this whole detoxing concept, and will probably make fun of it. (Like mine did.) Take it one day at a time, and don't get too overwhelmed. This is a lifelong endeavor, and you will become very educated about health in the process. It is a very valuable education. I am now 11 days post explant and I am thinking ahead as far as detoxingWhen should I start? Do you all suggest making an appointment to see my local physician? The symptoms that I have are simular to fibromyalgia. I found this web site that has pills you can take for getting rid of the toxins in your body. It is called cleanzyme. Have any of you tried this? .....I just need to know what step to take first. I am so scared that I will make another trip to see a physician whom probably won't understand my condition and might look at me as a nut!!Thanks ladies!tw

IT TASTES LIKE MUD, well anyway he said anytime you do a clease you should take this stuff, because the cleanses release the toxicens but this stuff grabs onto them and helps remove them from your body, other wise they can just relocate. Guest guest
Shari, I get my coffee from these folks...they have good info: http://www.sawilsons.com/ I first heard of CE's 30 years ago in the Kelley Therapy book for cancer...just now doing it....not surprising!! I used to do the more 'conventional' flushes and fasts. With the FMS/CFS (adrenal fatigue) I know I can't handle the purges and fasts. I've been feeling esp. lousy lately so I know I need to detox...I'm way overdue actually. The clay info is from Shirley's Wellness Cafe http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/clay2.htm The parasite info I originally got from Hulda . I'll use a type of zapper when I get there....but want to get all my other detox out of the way first. I'm not feeling so great but not feeling worse than before.... I skipped yesterday...and am back on track today. There may be a day or two a week that I skip but I figure I'll be at it for a month. But, ya know, to be honest...I'm not so sure I've ever totally detoxed.... I would like to take this to satisfactory end....and then hopefully get going on raw food. Thanks for your support, Shari!! With the fatigue and my ADD..I can get run off the track fairly easily! Kit > Kit - while I don't " do " cleanses, I do fast every February for the entire month. Usually a few days on juices and then at least 15 - 21 days on water and then back to juice. Although, this year I'm eyeing a fast coming up starting October 9. Want to start Saturday, but I have a class on the 8th and there's nothing worse than fasting and trying to prepare food for a class! > > How's it going? And where did you get your information? Guest guest
Gayla, That's LI-4.... a very downward moving point, in fact, it's CI for pregnant women....so, as an aside, never let an acupuncturist do that point if you're PG or trying to be. Although, the CE really isn't about sh*tting...well somewhat....but it's not a colon cleanse. In fact, it's best to do the CE after you've taken one...so it's easier to retain...which is the object....retaining it....only in the sigmoid colon (the last 18 inches of your 60 inch colon). " The Coffee Enema for Liver Detoxification The coffee enema has been used for many years to detoxify the liver. It is a low-volume enema that remains only in the sigmoid colon. There is a duct between the sigmoid colon and the liver called the entero-hepatic circulation system. When the stool reaches this point, it contains many toxins, which are sent to the liver for detoxification. The coffee enema will increase the transit time in the bowel. The caffeine that is absorbed into the entero-hepatic system causes the liver ducts, including the bile ducts, to empty into the sigmoid colon and be eliminated. Releasing the toxins in the liver ducts, makes room for toxins from the body to enter the liver for detoxification. The alkaloids in the caffeine stimulate the production of glutathione-S-transferase, which is an enzyme that facilitates the liver detoxification pathways. Coffee enemas will not waste minerals and electrolytes because they have already been absorbed in the previous sections of the intestines. Guest guest
Shari, Yup....same point. UPDATE: I increased the coffee today, but need to back it up. I can feel I got too much caffeine. BTW: A nicer buzz than when it goes in from the other end! The other interesting thing is that, when not studying, I have the local public radio station on which means NPR at the news hours. I turned it on and thought, ugh...I emphatically did not want to listen to the news...very odd for me. And, actually sounds like a good plan for the duration...news!....talk about toxic input! lol, Kit > There is a pressure point that my Acupuncturist called the " Mother Shit Point " . Guest guest
....ha-ha...to keep in mind for the grandchildren!! BTW: LI-4 = Large Intestine 4 ....nope, no decaf, no instant, best be plain and organic... I use a special blend from SA (2 tablespoons in a quart...I tried 3 today...back down to 2 for me!!) " .... s.a.'s Therapy Blend, the first commercially available organic coffee specifically engineered for detoxification. The high palmitate content of these select beans is protected by a roasting process guaranteed to produce a finely ground coffee rich in the strongest stimulants of the most powerful human anticarcinogenic, antimutagenic, and antiteratogenic enzyme system. " (s'pose to be less expensive, as well...I haven't made a comparison) http://www.sawilsons.com/coffee_enema.htm Directions: " An enema bag or bucket, preferably one of clear plastic that you can see through A large stainless steel cooking pot (I use/prefer glass) Organic coffee fully caffeinated, drip grind coffee A source of uncontaminated water. Chlorinated water should be boiled for 10 minutes (I still boil my filtered water 10 in case of bacteria) Procedure Put a little over 1 quart of clean water in a pan and bring it to a boil. Add 2 flat tablespoons of coffee (or the coffee amount that has been prescribed for you). Let it continue to boil for five minutes, then turn the stove off, leaving the pan on the hot burner. Allow it to cool down to a very comfortable, tepid temperature. Test with your finger. It should be the same temperature as a baby's bottle. It's safer to have it too cold than too warm; never use it hot or steaming; body temperature is good. " rest at: http://www.sawilsons.com/basic.htm UPDATE: (hmmm, this is turning into a blow-by-blow, lol) Got a couple of waves of nausea, am really ready to fall into bed...caffeine wore off after a couple of hours...it feels like I'm going to get a good night's sleep....hope that's true!! It's the new moon so I did a Himalayan Crystal Salt Detox bath last night ...new moon for detox, full moon for healing....and today my muscles are really sore. Guest guest
Yes, Suzi, I'm really curious too. I took an epsom salt bath the night before and nothing...except I did seem to sweat (face) more than usual. . FMS'rs are suppose to have an overload of phosphates in their cells....and exit of them causes pain....so I don't know if the detox bath pulled out phosphates(calcium supplements ,not natural calcium, also pulls them out causing pain) or some other toxin to cause the aching....weird...wish I knew someone else who did an HCS detox bath....might have to look for feedback on the mfctr's site or somethin'. I was going to do another(directions say no more than 2 in one week), but I may wait til next new moon and stick to epsom/other salts til then. Pain is generally something I have to time around my schedule...if I know I will do something to cause it. Guest guest
I am wondering if you have to do a kidney cleanse before a liver cleanse and if this is a safe cleanse to try? I have Fibromyalgia and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities as well as IC and Pelvic Pain Disorder. I have had all my amalgam fillings replaced including under the crowns, and really want to get better. I am really tired and have had shingles 3 times in the past year, so my body is getting very worn out. I appreciate any suggestions. I do not have a lot of funds or sources of herbs near by. I live in rural Alberta, Canada. Thank you so much. Shirley Ingredients Dosage Epsom salts 4 Tablespoons (not less !!!) Olive oil 3/4 of a cup (light olive oil is easier to get down, use only the best cold pressed virgin oil) Fresh grapefruit and lemons.Do not use concentrate or store-bought juice. Make your own. Do not use concentrate or store-bought juice. Make your own. Enough to squeeze 1/4 cup of lemon and 1/2 cup of grapefruit juice for the cleanse itself. If you cannot get grape fruits then use only lemons or vise versa. Ornithine (optional) 4 to 8, to be sure you can sleep. Suitable jar with non-metallic lid Shake your mixture well and gulp it down 1/2 cup of lemon/grapefruit juice Use a couple of ounces of this juice each time to help get down the Epsom salt solution (four feedings) if desired 1/2 teaspoon of Vit C (ascorbic acid) powder (optional) Use 1/4 teaspoon to lessen the effect of Epsom salts creating undue loose stools

I drink distilled water, no soda, very little caffeine or sugar. (Do like dark chocolate though). I don't drink or smoke. I read labels so try to avoid hydrogenated anything, msg, aspartame, sulphites etc. I quit eating wheat in 2001and I take Vit E, Liquid Magnesium, Vit C (large amounts of absorbic acid after chemical exposures), Kyolic garlic, Vit B5/B6 combo. I also take digestive enzymes once in a while when I have consumed too many carbs and get too bloated. I have also taken arnica montana and some homopathic drops and tinctures to deal with shingles and ongoing dental pain (from unhealing cavitation site) and now bladder issues. Guest guest
You're not a pain... don't think you are. It's under Natural Herbal RemediesI would talk to a naturopath on the cleanses. The psyllum is good to cleanse Complete tonic.Complete Organic Sulphur with Turmeric Tonic (AKA Complete Tonic) One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw onions One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw garlic One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw ginger One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw horseradish One half handful or about 1/4 cup or 2 ounces of chopped organic raw habaneros --or-- 1/4 cup or 2 ounces more or less, depending on your tastes of powedered cayenne (hottest you can get) 1/4 cup or 2 ounces of Tumeric powder Put all ingredients into blender and add enough organic apple cider vinegar to blend. Pour all into a large glass jug and fill with as much ACV as you can. Best to use either 1 gallon or 4 liter glass bottles. Of course don't let that stop you if you don't have these types of bottles. Cover and place in your cupboard for two weeks. Begin this process on the new moon and strain it on the full moon. After straining dehydrate the mash that is left over and powder it up. Makes a wonderful spice for you cooking or on raw foods. Also works really well for clearing out the sinuses. Bottle the liquid and store in refrigerator and take as much as needed. Normal dose would be a teaspoonful three times per day with meals, before meals or after meals whichever suits you. This formula will boost your immune system naturally and help to regulate your circulatory system. It is also a tremendous source of organic sulphur and one of the most best and most natural antibiotic you can find. The addition of Turmeric makes this formula even more anti-inflammatory. Turmeric is also an excellent free radical scanvenger, due to its antioxidant properties. Turmeric is very good for arthritis, rheumatism, heart disease and ny other disease where free radical damage is apparent. It has even shown good results in treating certain forms of cancer and in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells.
