Guest guest
It's for yeast problems. Yeast problems in any part of the body, most commonly in the mouth, around the g-tube, vagina - anywhere that's in a lot of contact with moisture and a bumpy itchy rash pops up. Oh, I do know that MJ frequently gets yeast infections in her lungs as well. For some reason there are a lot of people with SMA who have yeast problems. Guest guest
Ray: I know, I know, Dairy Police again. If he gets worse on the yogurt you might consider a dairy intolerance. Just food (not dairy!) for thought. Hope he's better soon. Oh -- could he be getting his 2 yr molars? always got diarrhea and ear infections with teething. (mom to Kate, born 9/19/02, dairy intolerant; and , age 4, dairy intolerant -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs)

No teething, either. . .I checked that too. Thanks! Guest guest
Ray: I know I should know this but what are the benefits of acidophilus? I know all about avoiding vaginal yeast infections but other than that I don't know how it would benefit me or my child. Do you know a good website? I wouldn't want to do it if I wasn't sure the benefits would apply to us. Guest guest
, When I first saw your question, I thought about giving you the same spiel my doc gave us. Instead, I found this on a website & it basically says the same thing. (Basically, I was covering my own . . . .well, you get the point!) Oh, I did a google search & tons of references came up. " Acidophilus is a probiotic bacteria. By producing organic compounds, this type of bacteria promotes good digestion and increases immune functions by increasing the acidity in the intestine thus increasing resistance to infection. Acidophilus commonly used for: Poor digestion, prevent bacterial overgrowth and rebalance bacteria levels in the intestines. " Does this help? I'm giving it to Duncan for the last reason cited. . ..rebalancing bacteria levels in the intestines. . .due to too many antibiotics in a short time. I remember doing this for Tabitha too. . .never had to give it to Autumn, but it probably wouldn't be a bad tool to keep for " just in case. " Ray, mother to Tabitha (age 7), Autumn, age 5 (IgG def., asthma, chronic sinusitis, and allergies), and Duncan (age 2)
Guest guest
It restores needed intestinal flora in the intestinal tract that aids in digestion and fighting off unwanted bacteria. Antibiotics kill this naturally occuring bacteria, so it needs to be restored. --- Argie Olivo <golivo@...> wrote: > Hello everyone, > > Can someone please explain to me the reason for > taking acidophilus, and how > does it help? > > Thanks, > Argie > > Barb Katsaros barbkatsaros@...
