Guest guest
I am only allowed to go to the ones that take medicare and medicaid, the way my healthcare is set up it has to be both because just one or the other would leave me responsible for a bill that I cannot pay, I still have thousands of dollars in medical bills from between cobra and when medicare from SSI kicked in, anybody know how long it is going to take for those to be written off? well at least I cant get sued for it, unless of course I come into a windfall, LOL Re: PLEASE HELP ME In a message dated 11/1/2007 2:50:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time, SSRI medications writes: Easier said than done Jim. Guest guest
You know...THE MAN. Aren't you in Denver? Perhaps state law is more lenient in Colorado, although I wouldn't think so...pretty conservative turf. And from alessandra's posts, I think we're talking Medicaid which is even more stringent because it applies only to the poor. Everyone talking about " eat the right diet " (while good advice) needs to realize that adequate amounts of fresh fruit and veggies are well beyond the budget of anyone on SSI. We are talking about $623 MAXIMUM per month with Food Stamp allotments of about $18 per month if you get the max SSI. SSA/SSD is tied to your earnings. SSI is for those who were not " fully vested, " so to speak, in the Social Security system because of low wages, early disability, etc. Terry FAIR USE NOTICE: This may contain copyrighted material. Guest guest
I don't know what state you are in, but you should be able to get Medicare/Medicaid to go back and pick up any medical bills not covered by insurance that you incurred within the 90 days prior to becoming eligible for Medicaid/Medicare. It's called a retroactive spend-down. Call your state Medicaid/Medicare office and aks if that's possible. (Sometimes lack of funding or state law can prevent this from being available.) Guest guest
Earlier this year I helped a young woman go to the doctor for the flu and we couldn't find a medicaid doctor that would take her. We finally went to a little clinic I knew of and they wanted us to sign that this woman was NOT on medicaid before they would see her, we were honest and the doctor there just did it for free since we had exhausted all other options, at least for that day. I have noticed that drug study doctors will except medicaid, seems like a racket to find willing subjects. Guest guest
Woah Bob, I don't know, it keeps coming and going I never know which day it will happen, it seems like if I get low blood sugar the wierd thoughts start, then if someone gives me something too sugary to help me I go like that. I am still a little unstable and have been unable to sleep. Yes it is like mania I suppose the maniacal laughter is really scary so I cry I think should I take magnesium? How do I tell if I am glucose intolerent? Oh this is all so overwhelming Bob luv Dawnx > > > > I am laughing hysterically > > Then i am crying with slight hysteria > > i was going a bit psychotic so they gave me sugary snacks Now I am > > just plain wierd > > is it my armour or my adrenals or sugar problems? Guest guest
Dear Dawn Too hypothyroid for too long, may explain the high insulin ~ the analogy is with hibernation where the insulin and magnesium both go up to cope with cooling down and then going over to fat burning during the winter. Cooling down reduces the need for extra 'heating effect'. A thermal 'economy measure'. Your slow increases in Armour will catch up with the hypothyroidism eventually, but needs to be done carefully to protect the heart. I saw a recent paper mentioning that high T4 can cause long QT gap ( and also predisposes to arrhythmia ); it may be a reflection of the other feature of hyperthyroidism, that it causes low serum/ECF magnesium levels as the magnesium is 'mopped up' by the cells. Two reasons for being hypoxic (and maybe too low magnesium ) ~ either hypothyroid and lowered metabolism or hyperthyroid and elevated metabolism, though more likely hyperoxic with perhaps low cellular glucose in hyperthyroidism (ie the cells are 'working harder')... The low serum magnesium status might be expected in hyperthyroidism and a higher serum magnesium status might be expected in hypothyroidism. If magnesium is pee'd out faster than it is released (from the hypoxia) one can imagine that a slow leakage of minerals would include both low serum magnesium and low serum potassium, there being no conservation mechanism as occurs in the kidney for sodium. A Glucose Tolerance Test shows if the post-ingestion blood glucose is too high or too low according to standard curves at half hour, one hour etc. Did your doc ever ask for a 24hr urine sample to estimate the minerals output, along with serum potassium? You might show excess (24hr) potassium in urine if the serum potassium is low, ie you can't keep up with the potassium loss (might imply high urine volume output). best wishes Bob > > Taken 100 mg magnesium, going to take my Armour and try and sleep now. > Will look for your answer when I wake up, thanks Bob > luv Dawnx >
Guest guest
Ouch I replied to this 5 mins ago and now I appear to have just lost the whole email! Oh well I shall repeat as much as I can remember: I don't know if this will help Dawn and I must say most of what you Bob wrote in reply went over my head. However when you mentioned glucose testing I wondered if what I am now going thru is similar to what Dawn is suffering from so here goes: I had a glucose tolerance test done last week and got my results two days ago. basically my Dr said I am hypoglycemic with hyperinsulism. I have been told to eat six meals a day each every 2 - 3 hours containing protein and carbs. I have also been told not to eat 5 specific fruits - water melon, oranges, mango, bananas, & pineapple. Apparently these are glycemic fruits and will cycle your sugar levels up and down rapidly - I wonder if this is happening to you Dawn. The fruits I can eat as much as I want of are anything ending in berry - strawberry, blackberry, raspberry etc. I found a really good online nutrition site yesterday: nutrition.bellaonline.com Its certainly helped me on the good and bad fruits veggies and meats. My GTT resuls showed: Glucose fasting 89 mg/dl in a range of 65 - 99 Glucose 1/2 hour 129 in a range of 65 - 199 Glucose 1 hour 89 in a range of 65 - 139 I had a 75g glucoden drink following the fasting test. My Vit B12 Folate result also showed deficiency hence I am taking B12 two tabs after breakfast. There are also some CBC results which I no nothing about at all - perhaps they go along with the general GTT test - Bob can you help there? I am also doing a food journal daily to keep track of what I am eating. I must say eating every two+ hours is a bit of a pain but if it helps me get rid of the terrible headaches and nausea after exercise of any kind then I am willing to try anything. I just hope this 'diet' helps me to get over my metabolism being screwed up over the next six weeks before I go back to see the Doc again. I think I have rambled long enough - hope this is of some help Bye for now - time to eat again! Guest guest
That would explain a lot Bob, if only my brain could keep it in I could remember it to tell the doc, I have so much I want to tell him but there seems little point he wont do anything anyway. But when this bloke gets in touch about the meds I will tell him and maybe he will give them a nudge eh? I have had hypo symptoms for so many years its scary really all sorts could have gone into hybernation. What bothers me is why I seem to be the only one on here having such strange symptoms? The total wierdness stuff is it exclusive to me? I wonder if anyone else on here has any experiences to share with a successful outcome? My doc is away again I have just phoned. Then man seems to spend most of his time on holiday. lotsa luv Dawnx > > > > Taken 100 mg magnesium, going to take my Armour and try and sleep now. > > Will look for your answer when I wake up, thanks Bob > > luv Dawnx > > >
Guest guest
NO not rambling, thanks, its good to hear from you. Misery likes company even though I am sorry to hear you are suffering. Is the diet helping? I just sent my beloved out for some nuts to eat at intervals. But he is also bringing fish n chips aghhh. I know potatoes are high glycemic but I won't be able to resist em when I smell em. I am going to keep taking the magnesium extra, I already take a calcium, vit d, magnesium combo pill each day perhaps I need more. Its the mental state that terrifies me more than anything, the other symptoms I can kinda get a handle on, unless of course they are really out there like cardiac arrythmias then I would worry lol. I have to get out of this hypo state, its killing me methinks. Keep going , how many Armour are you on now? lotsa luv Dawnx > > > > Dear Dawn > > > > Too hypothyroid for too long, may explain the high insulin ~ the > > analogy is with hibernation where the insulin and magnesium both go > up >
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Yes I do think the diet is helping but I do still feel fatigued.... I think it may be more stressed than anything atm - I think it is because I have had my brother and mother inlaw with us for the past two days. Helen is 91 and ill - she is also a chain smoker and not quite so heavy drinker anymore these days (thankful for small mercies!!) She is banned from smoking in our house - has to go outside. But her bag full of meds makes her hyper sometimes like yesterday AM when I was alone with her and she really wound me up. And late yesterday PM when entering the beach she tripped and fell heavily - a stressor for all of us! She's ok but she told us she had a minor stroke a few weeks ago and I really wonder/worry if that is what caused yesterday's fall. But I have to stop thinking of others and think more of myself atm - not easy. At least everyone is receptive to my 'condition' and are not giving me grief over eating every 3 hrs. We went out to a restaurant last night and I ate very lightly and only stuff I know is ok for me and same this morning they had brunch and I just had plain pancakes, strawberries and a quarter cup of coffe for my mid morning snack having had breakfast two hours before hand. So yes if you think your diet may be lacking then I would recommend it but only you or your Dr can tell you that. I am sat down quietly now with some Jasmine T having seen bro and mo in law off, hubby and I shot round the house and got washing going as we are flying down south Fla for a few days/week of total relaxation - while hubby is diving I will be flat on my back reading, relaxing and generally emptying my mind of everything while in and out of the sun. But right now I need to make sure I have everything I need with me....... Armour - I am not on Armour. I think I might be one of those nauseating people who appear to be doing ok on Synthroid (branded by Abbott only not generic which totally destroyed me last yr) and also my weight is well within range for height but I want to exercise more to get my 'shape back' - still have a small pot around middle. Although I did look back at my last test results and found my T3 to be only in the second quartile and I think it should be in the 3rd quartile (after reading something here that Sheila wrote). But one thing at a time - my diet change and up the vit intake first. I am listing some questions for my Dr when I go in 5 weeks and the T3 level is one of them......... But also I re-read Bob's post to you re: > Too hypothyroid for too long, may explain the high insulin ~ the > analogy is with hibernation where the insulin and magnesium both go >up I only left the UK two yrs ago - when I look back at a picture of me taken nearly 10 yrs ago I see a puffy moon faced creature with very puffy tummy staring back at me. My NHS Dr flatly refused to do a TSH test on several times I asked and she said nope don't need it you are peri-menopausal, get used to us. Well now I know for sure that she was totally wrong - dam I could have started treatment for this over 10 yrs ago and been in much better shape now. I know there are many people who can relate to that - we have all paid so much into the Government coffers for NHS etc and what do we get back!!! ok rant mode off............. I digressed there.... Bob's comment I think is relevant to me as and now I must go back and re-read his comment to find out what I need to do to combat this problem - my Dr is changing my diet but maybe I need more in my vitamin intake too although I do take a multi vit and B-complex and B12 and Omega 3. I shall start to rattle soon ;-) now there's a thought. Hey ho life is never dull - chin up Dawn you & I will get thru this. Say if there is any stuff you need from the US that you cannot order from the UK I don't mind seeing if I could pass it on to you via post if need be. But it sounds like you can get most of it with no probs...... just a thought. Guest guest
Magnesium is extremely crucial to those with anxiety. Not only does it affect adrenals in a big but it also effect just about every other organ in the body. This goes especially for the heart. Minerals have an energy which is fuel to the body and each mineral has its function. But the one that seems to effect many people with candida is magnesium. This is because the toxin that candida releases also causes the body to use up its stores of magnesium to try to neutralize it. Slowly over time you will become very magnesium deficient. Magnesium is the mineral responsible for relaxtion of the muscles. Calcium is responsible for contraction. For example you need both for your heart to beat. Calcium causes the heart to contract and pump blood while magnesium causes the heart to relax between beats. Too much contraction you have a heart attack. As a matter of fact many top notch hospitals actually give you a magnesium drip IV in the ER if you have had or are having a heart attack. Have you ever heard of calcium channel blockers? They are a blood pressure medication to treat high bp. They work by blocking excess calcium in the blood from getting to the heart and doing damage . How do we get excess calcium? Because we eat way too many things we should not be eating but that is another story. But another big reason is because we do not get nearly enough magnesium in our daily diets. Without enough Mg and too much Cal. we wind up with an imbalance and so we wind up with too much contraction not enough relaxation of muscles. Now this can result in an anxiety type of episode with a racing heart shortness of breath, dizziness , hot flashes etc. This really takes a toll on the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands start over producing adrenal and then you have a real nasty anxiety attack on your hands. That is until your adrenals are so shot they do not produce adrenal that much anymore, then you wind up with fatigue and no energy etc. you will need to take say 5 / 250mg. if you take to much you will get diarrhea. aka... milk of magnesium is used to make you go to the bath room. Specifically look up Magnesium deficiency and anxiety, depression, and insomnia. All those people that get put on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety med's...how much would it piss you off to discover that the core cause to begin with may very well have been a magnesium deficiency? " Multiple studies, readily available on PubMed, have confirmed that magnesium deficiencies can be a cause of anxiety and other nervous disorders. " I guarantee you that Dr's would never look for it, and even if they did, their tests are flawed. In a conversation I just had with a Nurse Practitioner, he verified that too. " Magnesium deficiency is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies. The typical Western diet contains only about two-thirds of the RDA for this mineral. Other factors that can promote magnesium deficiency include chronic stress, certain diseases (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease and heart disease) and the use of diuretics and some other medications. (3) Symptoms of magnesium deficiency include anxiety, fatigue, depression, irritability, fear, restlessness, insomnia, faintness, hyperventilation, muscle cramps and twitches, intestinal complaints, tightness in the chest, poor attention, confusion, and memory loss. These symptoms are remarkably similar to those of patients diagnosed with anxiety disorder. A large proportion of patients report that taking a magnesium supplement, with or without calcium, helps their anxiety to some extent, and occasionally the results are dramatic " " Contrary to what you might think, muscles that are worn out or short on energy contract, rather than relax. One of the other functions of magnesium is to insure that electrical signals are conducted properly through the body. A correct magnesium/calcium balance can calm nerve cells and head them off from firing pain signals to the brain. Those contracted muscles are the root of a lot of back pain. Muscle spasms on both sides of the spine will result in a stiff, painful lower back that can be hard to stretch or work out well enough to achieve any real relief. Most lower back pain is caused by muscle spasm or strain, not by bulging disks or other spine-related problems. " " When I suspect magnesium deficiency, I always test for zinc deficiency, which commonly leads to poor assimilation of magnesium because gastric acid is low "
Guest guest
I had a hair analysis a few years back and it did not show any high levels? Is there a specific test to have done? Thanks candidiasis From: qlebanon@... Date: Tue, 8 Feb 2011 02:34:03 -0800 Subject: Re: Please help me Have you been tested for heavy metal poisoning, mercury or lead? Because the symptoms of fatigue, depression, brain fog are symptoms of mercury poisoning. mercury poisoning and candida go hand in hand. I am almost recovered from mercury poisoning and the anxiety has slowly gone away. I wish the best for you. You may email me off list if you like. Guest guest
A very important understanding; No one can SAVE you!!! You have to save you, period. You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink. If you are not willing to do the work then you will continue to be a victim. Fungus loves it when you are a victim!
