Guest guest
: It is my understanding that Ensure is for adults. I can tell you that I have always LOVED it. I used to drink it when I was vegetarian, for the vitamins, or when I didn't have time for breakfast. To me it tasted like a vanilla milkshake! But I've only had the liquid form in the little pop-top cans. Soy has a distinct aftertaste, I can tell you. But I would think if you started just adding the tiniest, tiniest bit, he might still get used to it. I don't even taste the aftertaste anymore, but then again, I'm putting it in coffee, not drinking it straight. Still don't have the courage to do that!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck - (mom to Kate, born 9/19/02; and , age 3-3/4 -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs)
Guest guest
Both Medicaid & Medicare will cover the cost of Ensure & Ensure Plus, if you have a doctor's prescription. Then you can have it delivered by the case by a medical supply company. Vicki
Guest guest
Hi Aul, I'm sorry I am not able to answer your question on the Ensure. However, I did want to let you know I have discovered through the recommendation of my doctor a nutritional drink which is more nutritious than Ensure and delicious as well. The name of it is Complete. If you would like more info please E-mail me directly- mbc543@... Peace to You, Beth Ensure Hello, Does anybody know where I could get nutritional drink Ensure in larger quantities and for lower price? Thanks. Guest guest
The cheapest place I've found for most medical supplies is http://www.allegromedical.com so I checked there first. They sell Ensure Plus for $33/case of 24 - 8 oz. cans. This is $1.37/can. There's no shipping fee for purchases of $99 or more. It seems to be cheaper, about $1.19/can at www.walgreens.com, but they did their math wrong. $9.49 for a box of 6 is $1.58/can PLUS shipping. Walgreens does not offer a bulk shipping discount on this particular product. Alana
Guest guest
, I would keep trying to get through. If you do think you are getting dehydrated, they could possible give you something that might keep you from having diarrhea so much. Have you tried anything over the counter? To see if it might help? Guest guest
Hi , This may sound funny, but when I looked at the ingredients of Ensure and Slim Fast, The Slim Fast contained more vitamins and Fiber in it, so I now take a slimfast optima everytime I toss my cookies, as I am worried about the effect on my overall health. Maybe that will help you, it stays down for me, but the chocolate does not, it comes up. Guest guest
, Please correct me if I'm wrong. Dr. Richter is not your GI doctor is he? You have a local doctor nearby, don't you? You should either speak with him or the GI doctor you see in your local area. Our bodies can go for days without food if we are able to drink just plain old water. Rather than permit yourself to remain dehydrated from all that dreck coming out, just drink water, or try those water with vitamins drinks, especially if you can't get down those fortified drinks that are thicker than water. But, please see a doctor. In a message dated 9/19/2006 6:01:57 P.M. Guest guest
Dr Richter said I could and should call him If I had a problem If he felt that he will only be MY DR after surgery He should have said that Instead of not returning my calls I am drinking..... Drinking Water with Vitamins and Protein ......... feeling better tonight -- Re: Ensure , Please correct me if I'm wrong. Dr. Richter is not your GI doctor is he? Guest guest
Ensure is like drinking a milk shake chased by a vitamin tablet. I absolutely do not recommend the stuff..(Sorry..)LouisePS One Doctor has said that, if the body craves calcium and we give it candy, where is it going to get what it needs? From our teeth, and our bones.. *That* it is said, is why our health breaks down in mid-life: but can be rebuilt again IF we give the body its correct treatment which of course includes proper nutrition.. Hope this helps.. xoxoxo From: and Dave <woody1014@...> Subject: Re: Leaky Gut/Candida candidiasis Date: Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 6:14 PM Hey you should try good old fashioned calamine lotion on your welts. Do you have any? its old fashioned and pink. we were putting it all over our hives, and it does help. test it first to make sure your not allergic. I know you are probably allergic to alot right now. We are snowed in. cindy > > hanging in - I have hives from showering and also sleeping. I am unhappily on pred, guzzling ensure which is quite tasty and have a doctor's appt with my doctor I saw when I was sick in 1994. He wanted to see me tonite but it is supposed to ice, he is in a new office and traveling at nite 45 minutes at rush hour when you don't know where you are going did not sound like the best of ideas! Guest guest
unfortunately, the angioedemas from eating " good food " are preventing that. Ensure may not be the best thing but it is keeping me alive at this point as opposed to either the olive oil, garlic, asparagus or broccoli last week that sent me to the ER when I could not breathe. I would prefer a better liquid diet for sure but those are few and far between and there has been nothing I can eat that has not caused huge hives, some in my throat. I am more unhappy about the prednisone but have a doctor's appt tomorrow and will see from there. I am still getting yeast flares and hives with the pred anyhow. > > Ensure is like drinking a milk shake chased by a vitamin tablet. Guest guest
One of my friends, she is the same way. She can only eat three foods. She doesnt get hives, but reacts to all foods. From being poisoned by a medicine. asparagus and broccoli? I'll find out, because that rings a bell. cindy > > unfortunately, the angioedemas from eating " good food " are preventing that.
