Guest guest
Does anyone know if gold crowns are hazardous to our health? I'm having an old crown that broke replaced and the dentist recommended gold. I have to let him know by Friday. Thanks, Beth
Guest guest
Gold crowns will most often have other metals in them. Other metals like copper and nickel for example can be extremely toxic. I'd be careful there to check the exact ingrdients. My layperson's opinion is that composite materials that you've been tested for as " least reactive " are the safest bet. If you have significant health issues it would be good to get tested and at least get with a dentist that understands the process of biological dentistry and compatability. And maybe you'll test ok for the gold. But again, I'd make sure that nothing else that you might react to is a problem. The same can be said for composites too. You can always pay for a temp crown and wait to find someone who can work with you. Not knowing the particulars of your tooth and health, I'm loath to say more. My only experience here is on a personal level, so take it for what it is worth-- one lay persons opinion. > Does anyone know if gold crowns are hazardous to our health? > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
I once read a booklet on mercury poisoning which said that people with EMF sensitivity should have ALL metal removed from their mouth, and that would (I think!) include gold.
