I think its high in carbs or sugar. Which doesn't help.

Beets are a high-carb vege, very sweet--handle with care, not to overdo..

Sugar beets differ significantly from regular red beets in sugar amount and

visually by color. Sugar beets are tan and most at this point are GMO.

That said, when first addressing a candida problem I would limit their

consumption as they do have natural sugar. They tend not to cause reactions in

food sensitive people (that's good) and are a powerhouse of nutrients (both

leaves and root).

My sister was on the Gerson cancer therapy and they had her making raw beet and

carrot juice. Both of these vegies have a high sugar content, but beats are so

helpful in cleansing the liver, so it may have more benefits then risks.
