Guest guest
Well, my fall garden is mostly burdock now. I let the burdock weeds grow this summer if they weren't directly competing with another plant and now it's a continuous mat of big green leaves. There's so much of the stuff I could eat nothing else for a month. Been juicing it, think I'll mix up a burdock and dandelion root vinegar as we've been talking about liver a bunch. Time to start harvesting and drying for use through the winter too. Not sure if it's the beets, carrots, or burdock but that mix of juice is giving me 3 BM's/day! I read recently that if boiled too long burdock root generates toxic atropine glycosides. That's a new one for me but find it interesting that the tea looks a real nasty green color if it's overboiled and sits for a period of time. Nature's warning mechanism?
