Yes cysteine is toxic. In low dose its used to remove the toxic effects of

paracetamol on liver. But don't use it in high dose and not for any other

purpose.

Cystine ( different from cysteine ) or L-Cystine is a double bond

cysteine=cysteine and is fairly stable against stomach acids. By the time it

reaches the cells its cysteine and is useful to cells to make glutathione.

Cystine is used to help the asthmatics and other respiratory cases.

I tried Cysteine for detox but had nausea, chest pain and weakness after

that. As far as I remember it was recommemded in this forum with Selenium too.

My doc said OK so I tried insted of Glutatione which was burning stomach.

I wonder if somebody tried it and has such side effects? It could be allergy too

as it is made from fermented cassava root. I am allergic to yeast sure. This

side effects are listed on-line and even indicated that it is toxic amono acid

but docs recommend it to sick people.I was going to send it to my father for

chelation as he have atherosclerosis.

But I red that it can cause heart disease itself as it increase level of

homocysteine.

Hello group,

What about N-Acytel Cysteine? May be spelled wrong.

Is it toxic?

Sorry I was taking L-Cysteine HCL not Cysteine. You mean it is very toxic and

should not be taken for general detox? Why in this case doc told me that I can

take it? Nausea could be from detox effect as too many toxins were removed at

the same time.

The supplement that I bought for my father for cardio chelation has Cysteine HCL

( 125 mg) in one cap. Is that toxic too? There are many docs who use it and sell

in huge quantities for many years and it seems nobody died.Though now they

prefer NAC - other form of this amino acid but they assure that it can help with

chelation.
