Guest guest
#1 raw, organic food to be healthy #2 is elimination! Every time you eat you should "go". That means three meals? Three times. Guest guest
Oops, didn't even answer the question I meant to answer. Candace - actually I would drink vegetable juices before fruit juices. With your colon in the shape it is, you need more minerals from food. My initial thought would be to drink cucumber/celery combination. I had that today to break a week long water fast and it was ambrosia. When I did my 28 day juice diet (can't call it a fast when you are drinking juice) last February I got stuck on romaine, tomatoes, celery, parsley, and a touch of lemon and a tad bit of jalapeno. I was juicing salsa almost and it was really tasty. Shari
Guest guest
From the time I was 17 to when I was 22 and had just had Brock I went once every month, sometimes once every 2 months. (when I was pregnant I didn't go for the first 3 1/2 months and then started throwing up all my food) I didn't know anything about the human body or how it worked so I thought that was just normal for me. (dumb, I know) I try thinking of when this all started and I can't quite put my finger on it. I know it was age 17 at the oldest. But I don't EVER remember pooping at school or in any public restroom so probably longer. A friend introduced me to Dr. Schulze when my eyesite started to go and the joint pain & stiffness & tireness & laziness was so bad I couldn't function. She mailed me a bottle of Formula #1 and WOW! I felt so relieved after just a week. At that point I couldn't even remember when was the last time I had energy! Then I did a liver cleanse and lost 8 pounds in 3 days (I don't think I have to say what that 8 pounds was : ) YUCK! I'm working on it. Not as quickly as I should be, but I've decided after I get back from my vacation I'm turning over a new leaf. I'm tired of feeling tired and achy every day. I need to cut something out of my budget so I will never be w/out Formula #1. For now, my bowel seems to be very dependant on it to go.... but it sure beats NOT going! Guest guest
I drink Dr. Schulze's Superfood each morning. Does that have enough minerals in it? I'm not a big fan of drinking vegetables. I can eat them all day long but drinking them gives me a case of the gags. (I think that comes from my mom force feeding me V8 when I was little) Even to get down the Superfood I have to mix it in freshly squeezed apple juice and throw a frozen banana in the blender. YUM! I need to do something! Don't mean to gross out the squeamish but there's quite a bit of old clumpy blood comin out these days when I DO poop. Coffee, although it is great for instigating the peristalic action of the intestines, also zaps your adrenals leaving you with less and less energy. Coffee is a crime. It really is. It is a stimulant causing undue stress on the body. I know for I still battle the coffee monster. I have been drinking coffee since I was a child. I just love the flavor and aroma. It can also be quite addictive mentally and physically. Several questions if I may. Are you using any refined sugars? Consuming any dairy products? Eating any pastas or starchy foods like potatoes? Getting plenty of good exercise (and I don't mean just chasing Brock around the house) LOL. How much fresh raw fruits and fresh green leafy vegetables are you consuming on a daily basis? Are you eating anything dehydrated like crackers, cookies, etc.? Are you eating roasted and salted nuts and seeds? Are you cooking anything in oil at all? Now to answer your question, which Shari did quite a good job on answering, you can use whatever you desire. However, it is better to just use one and not keep changing to a differenct juice every day. Using fruit juices will cause a rather sharp increase in your blood sugar though. You would be much better off just blending the fruit and eating it that way. Still takes less energy to digest it but at least you will have the fiber to help slow down the assimilation of sugar into the blood stream. Using vegetable juices will not have this effect nearly as much. Are you planning on having someone take care of Brock while you do this? Something you might wish to consider as juice cleansing can be quite taxing on your body. Now for the other side of the coin, due to the fact that your intestines are not so good shape and you have some internal bleeding going on, I would highly suggest, though it may not be practical for you, that you do a water fast only and not do anything for at least a week if not 10 days. You really need to give your digestive system a break. It has been abused big time and a physiological rest will allow it to begin healing. I would highly suggest that you find someone who has assisted others successfully through fasting and see if they would be willing to assist you or at least help you better understand your situation and what is going on. Yes you can go to the medicos but they are gonna want to stuff you with toxic drugs or worse, carve into your intestines. Do some research Candace and see for yourself if this can be a solution for your problem or not. You really can heal yourself and you really do not need to suffer. But you need to do the research and make your own decisions here. A juice cleanse will help somewhat but proper fasting will do so much more. Okay 'nough said on that. -- Peace be with you, Candace. If it is dehydrated it will be dehydrating in you unless you thourghly rehydrate it before drinking it. -- Peace be with you, Candace and have fun on your vacation. Guest guest
"also zaps your adrenals" Not to mention that for every 8 ounces of coffee you drink you need to drink 16 ounces of water just to break EVEN!! If not, the water is being absorbed from your colon back into your body to save your organs, thus making you constipated. And if it truly is blood, just as someone else mentioned you'd better get to a doctor. My father was like that and his really was blood and it turned out to be colon cancer. And yes, I mean to scare you. It is very serious not moving your bowels naturally. Shari

Guest guest
I don't want to be drugged or carved up. when I was in the hospital having Brock "they" said they weren't letting me leave the hospital until I had a BM. Well, after a week of giving me hospital grade laxatives and nothing coming out they released me. So the only thing I can think of that they would want to do is exploratory surgery (introducing bad bacteria and probably scar tissue making matters worse) or removing part of my colon..... no thanks! Guest guest
Don, I don't even like coffee... I think it tastes and smells horrible. But my energy level lately has been pitiful. After 5 or 6 hours at work if I don't start in on the coffee I'll fall asleep at my desk! So I choke it down and as an added benefit, it helps me poop! I haven't given up dairy (although after all the talk about puss in milk I've stopped drinking milk). I still love my cheese, though. I still have sugar in my diet. Not much, but it's there. And yes, it's in my coffee... To help me choke it down. Yuck! Haven't had pasta in ages, I do have a bad thing for eating baked potatoes. I eat a LOOOOOOT of baked potatoes. YUM! When I get back from Florida the exercise situation will be picking up immensely. I just signed up for a membership at Lifetime Fitness and as long as I go 13 or more times a month it only costs me $10/month... My employer will chip in the rest. Yay! And it's right next to work. I'm gonna start taking hour and a half lunch breaks and working out for an hour over there. I'm also going to pick up going for a walk every morning when I wake up. I'm sure that would just make me even more tired so I need even more coffee but at least it'll get my blood pumping! No crackers, no cookies, no roasted salted nuts or seeds. I cook with butter since I ran out of olive oil. Need to get more olive oil. I don't have anyone to take care of Brock and I'll have to work full time while I do it. I would imagine doing a water fast would be out of the question because where would I get energy from??? So the sugar in the juice might be a good thing... I don't like drinking straight juice from the juicer. I think it's too thick... So it's always 1/2 juice, 1/2 water. I'm thinking apple/carrot sounds good. While I'm at work, since there will be no juicer, I'll be eating the apples and carrots. While I'm at work, since there > will be no juicer, I'll be eating the apples and carrots. > > Candace ======================================== Hi Candace, Okay, here's the rub. The cheese is constipating. The potatoes are constipating too. I suggest you give up the cheese totally and cut way down on the spuds. Hard cheese or soft? Hard is by far the worst. But any cheese is constipating. Just not good for you. Best, if you must have it, would be raw organic soft cheese like soft goat cheese. But it would have to be raw unpasteurized. Very good on the exercise plan. Quite a deal. No water fast if your working. Won't work well at all. I don't even suggest it while doing a juice cleanse. Okay eating the apples and carrots will be good just make sure you chew them into oblivion before you swallow. Otherwise they are very very hard on the digestive tract. Cutting your juice 50 - 50 with water is a good idea. Yes the sugar will up your energy level but realize that it too is an energy sapper when it hits the blood stream all at once. That is why it is best to eat the whole fruit. You might be surprised at what that morning walk will do for you in a short amount of time. Exercising actually increases energy levels over the long run though it appears to wear you out in the short run. -- Peace be with you, Candace. Guest guest
Candace, I love my baked potatoes too but I think I eat them more out of affordability then anything else. I slather them with hot peppers one of my many obsessions. BUT, they definitely are so constipating. When I stick to mostly raw I am good but the potatoes come in and nothing goes out. I have never been a regular "mover" myself but my body changed so much when I found the world of raw fooding back in January 2004. I eat as much raw as I can afford as I find I feel so much better. My usual used to be once a week. With my first bout of anorexia in the early 80's, I did not go for 3 months which put me in the hospital after collasping at my desk in work. Of course I had many other issues going on also. Also, your dried blood is not necessarily from your colon either. It can be from any other disturbance even in your stomach. I have had ulcers for most of my life and bleeding ones are nothing new to me. Good luck with your juice cleanse and your health My best to your little guy too Have a beautiful day Toni
Guest guest
Once I get to the point I have energy I wont' need coffee. No coffee = no sugar in my coffee. At this point I don't think I could make it through work w/out it. As much as I've heard about eating an apple being the same as drinking a cup of coffee.... it just doesn't pick me up AT ALL. I'm thinking once my colon gets a lil cleaner I won't be quite so nutritionally depleted and won't need coffee/sugar because I'll get more nutrients from my food. Even Superfood doesn't give me the energy it used to...... I've given up dairy for the most part. I think everyone on this list has a guilty food.... mine is cheese. I've cut way back but haven't given it up quite yet. Giving up milk was HUGE for me. Cheese.... not yet. I used to eat it every day on just about every thing I ate. Once every 3 days for me, again, is HUGE. Baby steps. However, when I get back from FL I'll be taking much bigger steps. Tired of feeling like doo doo and needing sugar laden coffee to get through my day. So far you have stated you can't give up cheese, you have to have sugar in your coffee, you have to have coffee to make it through the day, you have to have coffee to poop and you are going to make all these major changes when you get back from vacation. My question is: what do you want from us? We've given you many suggestions and all we get back are excuses. (see above). Shari - who is just wondering why? Guest guest
I think I have bad taste in food. From what I"m reading, my favorite foods are constipating. Well, there's still coleslaw! Haven't read anything bad about it yet and I LOVE it! I think I'll go easy on the tators. And the cheese. Of course during the juice cleanse I'll be going easy on everything. Boy that's a long time w/out food!!!!!!! So far my stomach has never hurt and I haven't had problems with it. Just my gut. So far anyways. ShariDial Broadband has arrived Nationwide! Up to 5 times faster than traditional dialup connections from $13.33/month! Guest guest
Can you try coconut oil for energy? It doesn't take much and gives me plenty of energy. Not painting the house energy but I'm mentally alert and actually doing something physical(running the vacuum etc). You could kill 2 birds with one stone-sugar and coffee. Guest guest
Hi Candace and all, I'm new to this list so I don't know what all has been discussed since I haven't had a chance to check back a few months. But I've been reading about the juice fasting here and was wondering if anyone ever mentioned Kombucha Tea? All this constipation and problems with energy, etc. Kombucha Tea will take care of both. I'm not saying it's a cure all for everything but it will certainly help the body and it's also a detox. I've been drinking Kombucha Tea for 8 months now and I have more energy than I've ever had. I used to drink 2 pots of coffee a day, the tea has curbed my appetite for coffee and I average 2 cups a day, just because I like it. Some days I don't have any, and no withdrawal symptoms. It also curbs the appetite for sweets. I used to eat M & M Peanuts every night at work, I haven't had them now in months and don't crave them. Ice cream was another thing I felt I couldn't live without, haven't had that in months either. If you want energy without the nervousness of coffee, try the tea, it definitely won't hurt you. Shari knows, she drinks it. Just my opinion, Judy > > I think I have bad taste in food. From what I " m reading, my favorite > foods are constipating. Well, there's still coleslaw! Guest guest
HEY CANDACE I have recently been trying to reduce or stop coffee again myself. First I switched to organic only; the flavor was more intense and i found that i was drinking much less. Next i make sure that i have my supplements, herbs and Super Green Nutrition drink before drinking ANY coffee. I find that most times i not only dont need the coffee to wake up, but i am too full. If i find i really want coffee after that, i do one cup of decaf. I know most people are not "down" with coffee, but this is my only vice and i really try to reserve it as more of a treat now than a REQUIREMENT! LOL sylCandace <momofbrock@...> wrote: Sorry it took so long to respond. Just got back from FL.I will sure try it!!!Where do you get yours?Candace>> Can you try coconut oil for energy?
