Guest guest
, I don't think your daughter will have any difficulty finding midwife in CO. We are super holistic and the health food store would be a great place to start. I didn't know of midwives at that time either, and I ended up with C sectionS. I sure wish I had someone guiding me through the process, but they are now grown and my daughter didn't even consider that choice for having her baby sadly, copped out on the breast feeding when the milk was flowing like a river, so the baby is cute, smart, but did the formula route + I don't even know how many vaccinations but one for sure that the hospital did. I send her info., but she's married to the "doctors wisdom" and not others. Oh well....hope your daughter looks at all her options carefully. I was given scare--You are too small to deliver, but it was a Sun. and maybe the dr. wanted to go to the football game or such. Who knows, but ignorance was the price I paid for not knowing what is there for your daughter today. carolgCandace Podratz <momofbrock@...> wrote: I wish I would have hired a midwife. Guest guest
My wife Marilyn is definitely steering Virginia in the direction of a midwife. We both feel that that would be best. I've also heard of dulas, but not too sure what they are. Ever hear of them? Guest guest
Yes Carol it is sad what power doctors have over women and birthing and it is all based on scare tactics mostly too. I don't believe men as in doctors have any place in birthing babies anyway, women have been birthing with midwifes long before doctors came along. In Australia there is a 'baby bonus' money you get from the government after you've had a baby but they hold back $208.00 until the babies are 18 months old and fully vaccinated. Aimed at the poorer especially I suppose and to get their vaccinations in. I just go to the doctor (about only time I go) and get a letter saying I consciensously object and then I get the $208.00 - easy. All 6 of our kids are unvaccinated and really healthy. My husband calls them the organic kids. Guest guest
A doula does not speak for a couple, provide medical or clinical skills (See Question #2 on Monitrices.), or act in any unprofessional manner (Most organizations have Policies that each doula must follow.). A doula provides: explanations of medical procedures emotional support advice during pregnancy exercise and physical suggestions to make pregnancy more comfortable help with preparation of a birth plan massage and other non-pharmacological pain relief measures positioning suggestions during labor and birth helps support the partner so that they can love and encourage the laboring woman avoid unnecessary interventions help with breastfeeding preparation and beginnings, written record of the birth many other possibilities that vary from doula to doula http://www.childbirth.org/faq.html#doula and http://www.dona.org/search/results.php?region=US+-+CO & doulas=birth & x=22 & y=5 <deuteronomy2929@...> wrote: My wife Marilyn is definitely steering Virginia in the direction of a midwife.
