Guest guest
Just thought of a few other things to consider for headaches: Magnesium citrate 1 -3 tsp, quercetin 1000mg daily, glutamine 1000 mg daily, evening primrose oil 4000 mg daily, omega 3 flax caps 3 daily, and if you do not have cluster migraines up to 500 mg of niacin. In addition, consider a detox if the migraines are related to chemical exposure: vit c 5 grams, 800 mg glutathione and 400 mg alph lipoic acid. If they are cluster migraines, do melatonin 3 mg per night for a week, then off for a week, and then back on again. Sinus almost always does trace back to one form of allergy or another. My husband has had migraines since he was a boy. They were so bad they put him to bed and the only thing that helped was a prescription med that he had to inject. The side effects of the med listed heart problems as one as well as other serious problems. He finally went to a holistic MD who told him he was allergic to casein (a by-product of all dairy). Haven't had dairy for a couple of years b/c of an MS diet I follow, which eliminates dairy. He loves pizza and would have to have it at least once a month. Everytime he would get a migraine. He's had sinus surgery a couple years ago, but that didn't stop the migraines. His frontal sinus cavities would actually swell above his eyes, prior to the migraine. He never had any trouble breathing even before the surgery. Needless to say he does not have pizza anymore. Allergies can trigger the migraines. Guest guest
Sounds a lot like food allergies. Do you eat wheat products? Wheat, and more specifically gluten does nasty things to people and frequently manifests itself as a sinus condition. That is another of the 3 things that used to get me. Even if it is not wheat, things do change a little with sinus issues. All the things I mentioned before plus some zinc. OR - Propolis tincture drops or high potency royal jelly – 2 tsp daily. You an also use astragalus extract, garlic (one of my personal favorites), NAC 500 mg daily, and although there is some controversy about it, b complex does help 100 mg daily with 500 mg of pantothenic acid and 2 grams of b-12 sublingually. Guest guest
I do not eat much wheat or none at all. I do have allergies to airborne things. Ragweed really gets to me in the fall. I seem to react to humidity levels and barometer changes with my sinus and get so much pressure sometimes my gums throb and it's due to sinus pressure not the brain lesion. I have a sinus rinse that I can irrigate my sinuses I have just started back using. I still do not get why my eyes swell up when I get the sinus pressure. I usually can always breath tho. I wonder if the broke nose in a car accident and the rhinoplasty I had made my sinuses react like they do now. I woke up this morning with my nose hurting and felt like it was going to turn to a migraine but hasn't so far. It's just so strange b/c years ago this didn't happen to me like this. Seems like the LDN would help the sinuses if it's inflammation. Maybe the tumeric will help. Thanks for recommending some products. I use to take bee pollen years ago. Is that the same as the royal jelly you mentioned? If I could solve this sinus mess, I'd really feel good all the time. It really controls my life and I'm popping benedryl daily. At least the LDN solved my other issues due to brain lesion. Guest guest
I have never considered LDN for sinus issues. Still sounds like allergies. There are a number of other foodstuffs that also will do things like that. Lactose intolerance? Might I suggest you find someone in your area that does kinesiology and get yourself tested for common things in your environment. Sinus almost always does trace back to one form of allergy or another. Royal jelly is somewhat like bee pollen on steroids. Bruce Guilmette, Ph.D. Survive Cancer Foundation, Inc. http://www.survivecancer.net From: low dose naltrexone [mailto:low dose naltrexone ] On Behalf Of Rhonda Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 12:58 PM low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: feverfew I do not eat much wheat or none at all. Guest guest
I don't eat a lot of that stuff but know wheat is in things we don't suspect so I'm sure I'm getting some wheat at times. I may react to some foods as allergies b/c when I was younger I had reactions that were a rash and throat swelling up and if not for benedryl, I'd be dead. That wore off as I got older but may affect my sinuses. But, it's right on time with weather changes with barometer changes with me and same with migraines. Wish I could control that somehow. Guest guest
Bee pollen on steroids.LOL!!! Years ago I had an allergy test of common crap in the environment. I'm was sensitive to every one they tested except dogs but less with most and I can't remember for sure which ones were worse but seems it was some grasses and the pollen that comes out before pine pollen and think it was maple. We have pine pollen here so bad everything turns bright Yellow and it is nasty. So, there seems there are so many triggers, I don't have a pray. The barometer thing just started happening 3-4 years ago and didn't have that crazy pressure and eye swelling when younger. Benedryl will help at times but sometimes the weather front has to pass before my eyes unswell or the mirgraine goes away. Happens to my sister too. I think it's strange and I feel like a walking barometer. I have one of those barometers you put water in and the water goes up a spout with air pressure changes and it's very interesting. Those changes affect our bodies also esp. me. If you came to my house and saw my zoo of animals, you'd think it was dander but I have some of my worse attacks away from my house. I also work in a very dusty workplace which doesn't help. I can be fine inside my house and walk outside and eyes swell up. Drives me crazy. Guest guest
ginger root can be crushed and applied as a poultice to the nose and forehead to stimulate circulation. massage around your nose and concentrate on the eyebrows and right above in circular motion or acupressure point where you stay in one spot several seconds. Try Fenu-thyme from Natures Way. 2 caps 3 times a day. Clearlungs is a good product as well. Boost your immune system as much as you can and rule out an allergy to sulfates in wine. best wishes, kathy [low dose naltrexone] Myelin Sheath> > > Support, Planetary> > > Formulas, 965 mg, 90 Tablets> > > >> > > >> > > > WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS TAKING THIS> > > SUPPLEMENT OR HAS HEARD> > > OF IT......IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME.....THANKS> > > LYNN > > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > > Label Information:> > > >> > > > " Myelin Sheath Support, Planetary> > > Formulas, 965 mg, 90> > > Tablets> > > > Herbal Supplement> > > >> > > > Planetary Formulas Myelin Sheath> > > SupportT is a> > > comprehensive botanical preparation designed to> > > support the fat like> > > insulating sheath (myelin) that surrounds certain> > > nerve tissues.> > > This formula was developed by herbalist Alan> > > Tillotson, a clinician> > > with 20 years of clinical experience.> > > >> > > > Lifestyle Recommendations: Avoid> > > consumption of> > > hydrogenated fats such as margarine, increase> > > consumption of foods> > > rich in essential fatty acids, and supplement the> > > diet with essential> > > fatty acids and lipoic acid.> > > >> > > > Suggested Use: Two tablets, two or> > > three times daily> > > between meals, or as recommended by your health> > > care professional.> > > Store in a cool dry place.> > > >> > > >> > > > Warning: Not for use during pregnancy> > > or breastfeeding. Guest guest
Is Ocudyne a prescription or over the counter and is it eye drops or what? Will do a google and see what I find. I used some type of prescription eye drops once but it didn't do much but burn my eyes. Can't recall what it was but my copay was $40 so didn't get it again since it didn't help. Guest guest
Several; Years ago When I had allergies, hayfever, sinus, etc, etc, My eyes would swell up to the point that I could not see my hand in front of my face. One day I was standing in our favorite pharmacy back in Michigan the pharmacist ask me why I was crying. I look at him with "KILL" in my eyes, but I held myself back b/c I feared that since I could not see anything he would beat the living crap out of me. When I told him I had Hayfever he told me that he sold an eye drops that had "ROSE HEP & BEE POLLEN" in it. So I'm not too surprised that you found BEE POLLEN in thing for alleger's\s. Guest guest
It seems one of the main things to remember is the more compromised your immune system, the more allergies for the most part. A program for boosting the immune sytem to the utmost potential and reducing oxidative stress factor seems to be the way to go. ANTIOXIDANTS and finding out which combo of them will provide the greatest synergistic effect seems to be the easiest solution. You can find out what you are allergic to and try to avoid it but your body will probably intuitively develop an allergy to something else because you have poor immune function. Guest guest
It is a supplement and I also thought about Pat Wagner's eye drops for you. She is the "Bee Lady" and has been on numerous TV shows for managing her ms through bee stings. Her number is 301-530-0472. Apparently she has developed eye drops with antioxidants and an active ingredient of the bee venom. She is wonderful to speak with. I know bee pollen is very good for allergies so putting it directly into your eyes in some form that she has come up with could be very beneficial to you. Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, Pat Wagner's site is www.olg.com/beelady . She has quite a remarkable story to tell of her own story and battles with MS and sells bee venom eye drops. I have never tried them as I've never had a need but I have done BVT so know she is well respected in the 'bee world'. I'm not sure what conditions she recommends the eye drops for but I'm sure it will tell you on her site. Guest guest
FEVERFEW: Did you know? This plant is part of the Chrysanthemum family and is excellent for the treatment of migraine, headaches and rheumatism. For headaches and migraine an infusion of both the leaves and the flowers should be used while, for rheumatism, the infusion of flowers alone is required. Suzi What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered. health/ www.onegrp.com/?mamanott organic cosmetics http://suziesgoats.wholefoodfarmacy.com/ FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.
