Guest guest
And take parsley daily... It is said to counter the smell.. Not sure how well it does though. As I don't do garlic on a daily basis except in ST> I think the problem is when they SEE me eating anything that has garlic in it, they automatically smell it all day. The smell isn't necessarily coming from me but they assume it is. It's coming from their imagination. Sure, occasionally it will be on my breath when I haven't had a chance to grab something minty to cover it up, but it's mostly psychological with them. If I open up my hummus when I eat lunch they will freak about how my lunch "stinks" and take it to the next step and say that I stink because I ate it. As long as I don't bring garlic anything to work they leave me alone. I told them I'm sick of smelling their burgers and greasy fries, but that didn't work .;-). Today I'm taking a big garlic-free salad with 4 different types of sprouts on it. I'll get comments but at least they won't say I stink. I eat parsley every day without fail. Italian flat leaf parsley, so it has to be #1. Garlic almost every day. Guest guest
you would have every legal right to sue them for harrassment. I'm sure that if they did not know your beliefs and you smelled this way they would not say a thing. I once sued a former employer and by going through the legal red-tape I had to go through, I learned that "harassment" is not grounds for a lawsuit. Here in PA it has to be either sexual harassment, religious discrimination , racial harassment or age discrimination. If the harassment doesn't fall into any of those 4 categories, there is no legal grounds for a lawsuit. An employer can do anything they want outside of those parameters. They can fire you for eating food they don't like, wearing a tee shirt supporting a sports team that they don't support, etc. and you don't have any legal recourse. The person (manager) who reprimanded me eats much of the same food I do. She told me that she was telling me as "a friend" because a customer called and complained that I smelled like garlic and she didn't want to get any more complaint calls or for me to cause needless trouble for myself. She told me she eats garlic on her days off, or at night, but doesn't eat it while she's working because people can find the odor offensive. I didn't feel harrassed by it. I just decided to eat it when it's "safe" and not risk losing clients. Gloria

Guest guest
When I first put in parsley plants they would not grow. Of course I was snacking on 5 or 6 sprigs every time I walked by. There was something in there that I needed, I guess. Iron? Kidney cleansing? Vit A? Now I still love the flavor and texture of it, but don't eat quite as much. I don't care one way or the other about curled parsley, but I grow some for my mother who prefers it. Guest guest
I figured the wreath was a joke but you can never be too sure.. lol Lavender is actually a very good herb.. Lavender also has many beneficial medicinal qualities. Including anti-bacterial and antiseptic actions. When you spray it in a room it kills airborne germs. Spray it on door knobs, phones and take it with you when you travel. Internally, drank as a tea, Lavender's antispasmodic actions reduce muscle tension and relieve cramps, gas, nausea and vomiting. Also beneficial for expelling intestinal worms. Used topically as a poultice with the dried herb or with the pure essential oil, Lavender's analgesic properties make it great and quick relief for headaches, arthritis, any aches and pains whether internally or from a wound or injury. Keep a vial of pure Lavender essential oil in the medicine chest. Use in place of neosporine and get pain relief with anti-bacterial healing. Most people think of Lavender as a common fragrance often associated with grandma. We found little sachets tucked in closets, under the beds and in old chests full of blankets. We didn't really know what was in them, most of us just assumed it was to make things smell better. Well that is one benefit, but Lavender is a natural insecticidal. It keeps spiders and moths from making homes in these closed off places. The scent last for years and every time it gets moved it reactivates for longer yet. Here is a list of some of Lavender's therapeutic properties: Analgesic, anticonvulsive, antidepressant, antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, detoxifier, carminative, deodorant, diuretic, hypotensive, insecticide, nervine, parasiticide, sedative, stimulant, stomachic, tonic, vermifuge and vulneray, among others.
