The worst was soon after surgery and was probably related to low protein. Now my protein is normal, for sure, so it is just the usual swelling that anyone can get. marta
Guest guest
Hi all I just wanted to make a comment about the " leg swelling " that is being discussed. It has also happened to me, usually one leg or the other, and usually from hip to thigh more than lower down. My rheumy attributes this to inflammation or damage from spondylarthropathy, a.k.a. psoriatic spondylitis, which affects the spine and thus all the nerves, blood vessels, etc. that are connected to it. He said that even if a person doesn't have a lot of " classic back pain " type symptoms-pain or stiffness in the lower back, sciatic pain, etc, this swelling can indicate a problem developing in the spine. Just food for thought, perhaps it will help someone. D
Guest guest
Hello Members, On July 20, 2003, I was diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis because I had a blood clot in my left leg. I spent a night in my local hospital center and I was put on coumadin and Lovenox. On November 30, 2003, I had another ultra sound because my left leg was swollen again. This time I did not have a blood clot. Instead I was diagnosed with cellulitis, an inflammation of the same left leg. I was in the hospital three days before I came home last week. So, this week I bought myself a recliner chair in order to be able to sit down with my legs elevated. Hopefully, this will help to reduce the swelling in my legs. Meanwhile, I am still taking coumadin for blood clots, insulin and glucotrol XL for diabetes, Remicade, folic acid & MTX for PA, Fosomax for osteoporosis, Advair for asthma, colchicine for gout, plus Zocor for high levels of LDL cholesterol. Sincerely, Reid in DC (aged 60)
