In reading this, I am grieving

for cats that I lost years ago who were special. But, you know, they are

always there.

Oh, Gayla...I know just what you mean. I have the ashes of 2 of my other pets on a bookcase and the memories all come back.For me, losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things in life and their memory and spirits will always be with us. I am so glad to know there are other people who feel this way. It was an intense, lonely road coping with Oreo's illness and I didn't share what was going on with many people, until the very end when I was clearly becoming a sobbing basketcase at work etc. Now he is free to start a new adventure and I guess the same holds true for me. I am a better person for having lived with him all those years.
