Guest guest
About a month ago I gathered 2 plastic shopping bags full of apples from a wild apple tree. They were pretty tart with a high tanning content, not really enjoyable to eat. They had some worms in them too (hmm, extra nutrients). I juiced them and to one quart of it added some of the mother essence from a bottle of Bragg's apple cider vinegar. Checked it yesterday and it's working, tiny bubbles coming up with a vinegar smell. Hooray! A big lesson on this is to appreciate AC vinegar. That one quart of stuff took a LOT of apples. I can't help but think of how many nutrients there must be in that mix. Now that I've done the one quart I think the price on a bottle of Braggs is pretty cheap. Be nice to have several apple trees and produce 5 gallons all at once but it will be another 5-10 years before mine start producing. A fun project, looking forward to turning it into something medicinal like fire cider.
