From the "Articles" fileThe basic plague formula goes back to medieval Europe. It is a broad spectrum

antibiotic, destroying both gram-postive and gram-negative bacteria. It's also a

potent , anti-viral and anti-fungal formula. It will increase blood circulation

to every cell, and kill all the bad guys. Cayenne is good for the heart. and well known for its benefits to the

circulatory system . There is a lengthy article in the files on cayenne. Garlic

has antibacterial and antifungal benefits. It reduces cholesterol levels and

blood pressure, reduces the risk of heart disease, has the ability to combat

cancer and has no side effects. Its benefits have also been observed on

impotence, pregnancy, diabetes, coughs and colds, stomach conditions, and

various forms of cancers.

Horseradish is best known for clearing nasal passages, coughs and colds

Ginger stimulates digestion and keeps the intestinal muscles toned to ease the

digestive process (with less irritation). It is helpful in combatting dizziness,

nausea and vomiting because it boosts the digestive fluids and neutralizes

acids. Ginger makes blood platelets less sticky and therefore less likely to

clump or clot. It also works as an antiinflammatory and pain reliever to assist

with muscle aches, chronic pain, arthritis, and to ease bronchial constriction

due to allergies and colds. . It can also ease sore throats, headaches,

ulcerative colitis, some types of menstrual and arthritis pain, and fevers and

aches caused by colds and flu. It may also help to relieve symptoms of

depression. Ginger may help prevent the internal blood clots that trigger heart

attacks.

White onion have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, and a paste or

Ointment made out of onion is said to prevent infection in wounds and burns

Another use externally for age spots, warts, or freckles is to mix onion juice

with vinegar and rub on the affected areas. Onions and all the other members of

the Allium family are thought to have some impact on high cholesterol and blood

pressure. An onion Tea can be made and used daily, but I'm not sure how that

would taste. The prudent thing for blood pressure and high cholesterol is

probably to just include onions in your diet at every opportunity.

Unfortunately, the down side to this is that onion compounds travel through the

body when ingested and it takes time to process them out through sweat or

breathing. Just brushing the teeth doesn't make the odor go away. So, you'll

live to a ripe old age, but nobody will want to be around you.....Maybe there's

a happy medium somewhere in there, but do experiment with onions and their

extracts if you have blood pressure or cholesterol problems. Onions are

perfectly safe for ingestion.

Almost time to make some more. First frost is due anytime soon

and thus it's horseradish harvesting time. Pulled the onions in from

the garden 2 days ago. Didn't grow any hot peppers this year but

that's what the grocery store is for. Can't have too much of this

stuff around.
