I always assumed the water was to maintain proper hydration.

Hi all,I am wondering if anyone can explain to me why juice fasts usealternating glassfuls of juice and water. What would happen if morejuice and less water was used? Or vice versa?Any info would be appreciated. Thanks much,TerriLynne

I always thought of fasting as water only. The sugar in fruit juices on an empty stomach is more than my activity level can stand--I would do better to fast on coffee! L

Well, it's my understanding that "juice fasting" is rather an oxymoron. You can't actually fast on juice because it requires digestion. Fasting means to have nothing to digest. And true fasting

Maybe the water/juice ratio has something to do with that aspect. I'm not sure.

Yes, you're diluting it down to ease the digestion process and to also help "wash" out the toxins too.

I don't do fruits, other than apple... usually apple carrot, or go to greens.
