Guest guest
Set a ziplok bag on the counter...open....put a slice of apple in it and leave it sitting on the counter. I have heard that in the morning you can just zip it up and toss it. Haven't tried it myself but know others who have and it worked for them. Somehow I got in the middle of a fruit fly infestation (I think they came with the crate of organic grapefruit and oranges I received the end of last week) and I can't get rid of the little suckers. I've tried putting sugar on shipping tape….they alight on the sugar and don't go near the tape. I'm killing them as I can catch them, but they keep multiplying. No, there is no open food in the house and all the fruit is now outside on the back porch (screened). And the doors are closed so they aren't getting in from outside. What can I do to disappear these guys without dousing my house in chemicals?!?!? Guest guest
Sharyn, at work we had this problem.. we took a bowl filled it with soapy water and put a piece of fruit (more like a crumb) in it... got rid of alot that way... then poured it down the drain.. (They *really* love red wine....my poor dh left his half-empty glass on the table while he cleared and helped clean up and it was FULL of bugs when he went back to get it!) We'll keep trying. I have to tell you, though, this has surely turned me off spending the money to order organic produce shipped to us. I'd rather buy local fresh stuff (not organic, but fresh) and not have the extra protein. 8-( Sharyn From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of angeldestiny Set a ziplok bag on the counter...open....put a slice of apple in it and leave it sitting on the counter.
