Guest guest
Gayla, This is what the article said, the page shows a photo of them. The manzano is pronounced: mahn zah noh. Manzano chile peppers are relatives of the super hot habanero peppers. Manzanos are used most often in fresh form because the pods are so thick they are difficult to dry. They are great for making hot salsas. The manzano is unusual in that it has black seeds. http://phoenix.about.com/od/foodanddrink/ss/chilepepper_7.htm All Blessings, Tone

I remember one year my father brought me back these tiny little red and purple peppers. Really small but man...they were unbelieveably hot. He does not eat hot anything and has everything growing there like crazy (in PR) He has mangos, coconuts, tons of bananas, avos and so much and he does not eat it..lol I would be in heaven. Free healthy food!! The mangoes that grow there are delicious and I would never eat one here. Maybe it is that they are shipped and sit for so long that just alters the taste. Oh and he has other things including papayas which I have never ever tasted. I pray someday I will get the chance to visit there. I don't think I would want to leave lots and lots of animals too but sadly no animal control or laws. Be well and blessed Gayla Tone Thanks Tone. Maybe I will try to get some seeds for next year. Guest guest
I'm coming in on this thread, and don't know where the seeds are coming from, but if they have to go thru x-ray (like at an airport)... the seeds won't propagate... I tried... even the nursery tried... i brought african bird peppers back from Jamaica.... so sad... they were HOT. SuziTone <tone102@...> wrote: Gayla, Papa is leaving in a couple of weeks. I will remind him to send me some peppers. The thought of them growing like crazy and just being wasted there...ugh! I will gladly send you some seeds!! Nothing expected in return of course. I am going to make a note now to remind Papa periodically on the peppers. Tone Some of the tiny ones are atomic hot. Guest guest
Tone - if the pepppers are as hot as you say, they would probably term them as a weapon and confiscate them. Thank you Homeland Security!!! (read with tongue in cheek.) Mailing through the post office they should be safe. I've had that concern as well and as of yet they are not irradiating ALL mail in ALL areas. Shari
