Guest guest
Happy New Year to everyone, I hope it will be better for everyone! I have a question about those with no insurance who have to have some hospital work done. This is for someone I know who has no insurance but is in need of some pretty necessary medical procedures. I thought I would ask and see if there is anything out there somewhere that offers help with something like that. myself, I have been diagnosed with Bladder cancer now, on top of the HCV. They are wanting to remove my bladder in a few weeks! no fun! RHSteve
Guest guest
SteveI am Canadian, so I am no help about someone in need of insurance of course. However, I am sorry about your bladder cancer!! Please tell me that your liver is not cirrhotic?? If they are wanting to totally remove your bladder, they must think that the cancer will be stopped right there. I certainly will keep you in my prayers for that.Luv Gloria Happy New Year to everyone, I hope it will be better for everyone! Guest guest
Gloria I wish I could tell you that my Liver is not cirrhotic, but unfortunately, it is. They tell me that I have to go for two years without the cancer returning before I would be able to have a Liver transplant. The good thing is that I have been stable for four years now with my current Liver state, The Hep team at Mayo Clinic are right there following me through this whole thing. I feel pretty confident that I will come through this and be okay, with the exception of the inconvenience of the stoma thing. Love you all!RHSteve From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Gloria Sent: Saturday, January 01, 2011 11:30 PM Subject: Re: [ ] insurance help SteveI am Canadian, so I am no help about someone in need of insurance of course. However, I am sorry about your bladder cancer!! Guest guest
Hey I had to go a few years without insurance. Most hospitals have what I call the poverty plan...not sure of real name.Just fill out some simple paperwork and it is all paid for, Have to do it again every few months but not a bad experience. Either call the billing department or just go to the emergency room and wait for bill then call them. There are also city, county and state funded places but if you are single without kids it is almost imposible to get help that way. If this does not help e-mail me and will help you find another way. It took me 2 years of hell to find help...no point in you or anyone else having to wait that long. At one point I was able to go to hospital and get test's other doctors ordered done, X-rays,Blood work Etc. Let me know how it goes Butch > > Happy New Year to everyone, I hope it will be better for everyone! > > I have a question about those with no insurance who have to have some hospital work done.
