Yeah diet can affect your liver. Such as if you eat liver you are putting extra uneeded iron into it. They suggest lots of green vegetables. Yeah you can make it so much easier on yourself with the right diet for your liver. Your doc told you wrong. This has already been checked out and put out by dieticians. Don has some files saved for us on it.

Just sayin, that when I went and talked to my doctor he told me my diet has nothing to do with helping my liver?

Thought it was a little strange.

this is strange everything you eat is metabolism(converts food to energy) by your liver, so yes your diet does have an impact on your liver. I would say iron rich foods(like red meat, etc.) should avoided. Don has some good sources in the library, but you can also search for "iron friendly diets" I also think that there are some books on hep C diets. I used to work for a nutritionist(he's an iron freak, but smart too) I am trying to get him to write a paper for me about diet for Hep C, been trying this for about 2 months, so far nothing. I might have to write it myself one day, but I know nothing about Nutrition or diets.nyOn Jan 2, 2011, at 2:04 PM, Cinder wrote:
