DO NOT self medicate with Pharm meds. I agree with Teri - Ribavirin DOES NOT work for HCV alone, and will cause Anemia that could kill you. Youve been there, done that. I agree with SuziQ - shift to suppliments and diet to slow any possible liver damage from HCV. She uses it, and so do I. Marcia, Kat, and many more people are using ALTERNATIVE medicine to control the HCV. [see link below, or look in the group LINKS.] Alternative suppliments are affordable, and will not hurt you. REPEAT - DO NOT TAKE RIBAVIRIN without doctors approval. If you need help with suppliment info - ask me. However with what has happened , PLEASE,PLEASE consider Dr Berkson's protocol for right now. He IS a medical doctor and has helped many many people. The supplements can be bought over the counter and are not expensive. Here is the links address on our forum.http://health.dir./group/ /links/006N___Dr_Berkson_001287085127/Start your reading with the Clinical Study. I take his supplements and know many who do. I do not take the LDN right now. Nothing Dr Berkson has will treat the other issues you have from treatment--such as your kidney problems. It does help your immune system to heal the EFFECTS of the Hep C virus. I urge ANYONE who has not cleared from treatment or is waiting to treat to, at the very least, look at the possibility of using supplements to help with their fight against Hep C. I am sure that a better treatment is on the way. Protect your liver until it becomes available. SuziQ >> If I took ribas alone would they help? I have a friend back East who said he would send me some if I wanted them.> I think that it would help the HCV & Liver, and it would lower the WBC. Doing this without interferon would still be helpful?> > Any thoughts?> Hugs, ny>------------------------------------
Guest guest
I have an unopened bottle of Ribavirin here that has the medical warnings attached to it.. I just pulled it out and read the papers. It says NOT to take it alone as it has no effect on Hep C or the liver without Interferon. Tons of warnings about all sorts of stuff too! Don't take these suckers if you're pregnant either! Hugs,TeriOn Tue, Jan 4, 2011 at 11:45 AM, Betty Himes <stayhungryforlife@...> wrote: The riba clearly states MUST be taken with interferon. Guest guest
ny,We kinda squelched this option pretty quick for you didn't we! Talk about everybody being on the same page! How often does that happen? Good job group! Ribavirin is a pretty nasty little drug. It does what it has to do when it's needed but it's uses are apparently pretty limited! Besides the fact that it's the Ribavirin that makes you all jittery, I can't imagine you wanting to take that drug again! It was a thought.... you were thinking outside the box! For now, I really like SuziQ's suggestion for you... check into Dr. B's program. It seems to work for a lot of people. Guest guest
Hi Teri, thanks! No I will not be taking them! I did not know that all the ribas did was make the interferon work better.Yes everybody was real quick in telling me No way dude, don't even think about it!Yeah it was just a thought, thinking that it might help lower the hep C, and decrease the liver enzymes (ALT & AST) to normal.Yes I am looking into Dr. B program as suggested from SuziQ.thanks so muchHugs, nyOn Jan 5, 2011, at 9:02 AM, Theresa Gottlieb wrote: ny,We kinda squelched this option pretty quick for you didn't we!
