Hi .

Welcome to the forum,

I, also, have chosen the alternative route. I, too, live alone. I've had Hep C at least 44 years and have known my "liver disease"(diagnosed in 1966) is Hep C for about 12 years. I am 76 and am on my first regular meds all these years. I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure this last summer, so I take meds for that. I take no pain meds or anti-depressants.

I check my labs about every six months for my Hep C. I had a biopsy about 10 years ago and a Fibrosure test a couple of years ago. I went to see Dr Berkson several years ago and take the supplements recommended by him. My doctors are fine with my going the "alternative route" and watch my labs --I watch them too. Unless something unusual happens or I started drinking alcohol, I expect to continue as I have for the rest of my life. The "alternative path" does not cure Hep C, but it does help with your liver health and slows the damage from the virus itself. Keeping a watchul eye on your liver is the key to using alternatives. I correspond with several people who use Dr Berkson's protocol and we are all doing well. I keep an eye out on the web for stories about alternatives.

Below is a site for diet etc and a site for info on Dr Berkson. You might want to start wuth Dr Berkson Clinical Studies for your info on him. It gives background on him.

This is a good video about Diet, Nutrition and Exercise - http://www.liverfou ndation.org/ chapters/ greaterny/ lectures/ palmer/ It was sent to the forum by ny. Thanks Johhny!!
