Guest guest
Hello friends, hope everyone had a Happy New Year! I had my week 20 doctor visit today, she said all my blood work was perfect, I am still undectable and she said if I am still that way at week 24 she said she was confident that I would achive SVR since I was an early responder! It was such wonderful news, it really makes all this hell worth it to hear that. The fatigue has been kicking my butt, but I am still running my daycare out of my home and doing everything I was doing before tx. Even with taking the procrit, it has been tough. Thankfully the procrit works for me, or I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. lol I am excited and hopeful, almost half way through tx. My daughter gets her liver biopsy this friday, and then we will go see the doctor and decide what she will do. I am concerned though because she has insurance under my husbands insurance until Dec 31 2011. She works full time as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant and can get insurance through her employer so I can't keep her on mine til she's 26 sadly. So my question is if she starts tx under our insurance and then is still on tx at the end of the year how will that work? I don't think under Obama health care that she can be denied for the pre-existing conditon, but I am not sure. I asked our doctor today when I saw her about it and she said to find out who the health insurance is through her work and call them and tell them her dilema and see what they will cover. I don't know what to do, if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly apprecitate it. Thanks so much! Cheryl in MD

Guest guest
Cheryl,Great news on the doctor front! Good job! I can't believe you have managed 20 weeks of treatment and running a day care! You are superwoman! Not sure on the insurance thing... I just hate insurance companies all around so hopefully someone else can shed some light on that aspect. Your best bet might be a phone call. Let them know up front what is going on so they can co-ordinate things. Also, if she starts treatment and can't continue to work, then she'd be able to stay on your insurance right? Maybe? Again, I'm not good at this stuff. Where in MD are you? I'm going to be there on Tuesday.. just a quick trip. I fly in Tuesday afternoon and fly out Wednesday early evening.
