Flo _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of shoutjoy Sent: Monday, August 25, 2008 6:40 AM Subject: Labs Hi all, The home website keeps changing on me and well, I was wondering if there are any changes in the labs we need to get yearly. I am eight years out and it is that time again. Well, I'm a little late this year. Could someone update me on the labs and email them to me? Guest guest
Dear Alice, I am so sorry you had this experience with the labs, I am sure they think they know even better than a doctor. They do not, believe me. My TSH constantly came back within range but on testing the other I was extremely low in T3. My GP requested this and fortunately for me got it done. In the inerim Isaw Dr P. And for the first time in over twenty years I felt I was listened to and heard by a professional about this illness. I had actually printed off everything I thought would be useful from this sites files and taken it into my GP. He read it. To cut a long story short, I was first given the addition of Liothyronine to my synthetic thyroxine. I managed to convince my GP to start me on Armour which was working a treat when they ran into difficulties with production/supply. I tried Naturethroid, but it did not seemto work for me at all like the Armour. Then my pharmacist sourced the Erfa thyroid and obtained that for me, and hey voila, after a bit of a false start with getting me on the right dose, I find it works a treat if I take 125mgs a day for 6 days of the week. Just don't take it on a Sunday now at my GP's suggestion. I really hope you get the blood tgests done that you need and also that you can manage to see Dr P. I am sure you won't regret it one bit, he is such a nice gentleman who listens and who really cares. Luv Lynne ><i> So it looks like I'm forced to self treat until I can afford to see someone like Dr P, I'm going to see if I can scrape together enough money to get the Genova tests done. I'm on a low income and it just seems so unfair! > > Alice >
