Wow, I had company in my wet exercise today. You sure did a lot more working out then me though. I hope tomorrow it's nice, I want to ride my bike after work.

I feel like I DID something today. The day started when I rolled out of bed at 4:45 a.m., had breakfast, showered, then headed out into the rain on my bike. I had to get to Crossfit Oakland for my first official class. It was pouring when I got there, and had to stand outside until folks let us in. I started my Crossfit workout all wet.

It was so much fun to work out with my co-workers. There were 30 of us. We did a bunch of great, full body warm ups. Some of them were lunge/stretch combos, and squat/inchworm combos. We did bridge work and some other abs. Those

Then we broke up into groups of 5 and did three rounds of these:

1 minute each, then rotate:

Box climbs or box jumps

ring pullups (LOVED these!!)

sit ups -- a weird, but great variation involving a wedgy cushion for the low back, and knees bent and knees out.

JCHU? Brain so fried! I have no idea what that is, LOLOL.I think the class will be low key because my instructor was in the same crossfit class. She said she'd try to complement what we did today. My quads are on fire right now. I can't tell you how exciting all of this is for me. I'm feeling kinda badass, which is a good way to head into my 49th year this month. And maybe I'll be kicking some butt when I turn 50.

So incredibly awesome to read this, ! I turned 43 this year and I am in the best shape of my life. I tell people I am looking forward to my 50s because I know I'm only going to get better. You are an amazing inspiration!!

totally unrelated... this reminded me of my Spreen workout from today (Kick Box Boot Camp). I loved the fact that she did not have complicated punching combinations. I can do JCHU but much beyond that and I get lost pretty easily.

I can't tell you how exciting all of this is for me. I'm feeling kinda badass, which is a good way to head into my 49th year this month. And maybe I'll be kicking some butt when I turn 50.

Here's the thing. Between this class, my bike commute, and walking to the cafe on my break, I burned exactly as many calories as I did on the 22 mile bike ride on Sunday.

Then folks took turns flipping a huge tractor tire. I didn't this time, but I'm going to try it.

How's that for a kick butt workout!
