Guest guest
> Hi Debbi, Dr Vaezi is the GI I'm going to see. From his publications and citations of his work in other publications, Vaezi is one of the main guys at TCC! You chose well!
Guest guest
Hi ! I'm so glad that you didn't take offense at my post! I wouldn't dream of telling someone they HAD to do one thing or another, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't at least share what happened to me. As for your appt at TCC, it MUST be " written in the stars " ! That is great that you got an appt to get in so quickly! Dr. Richter left to go somewhere else right around a year ago (I think June will be a year since he left). He is a great esophagus doc, but I think you'll like Dr. Vaezi even more (I know I did). Are they going to go ahead and do manometry, etc., on you while you're there? They have the GI nurses do the manometries right there in the GI unit. But if they send you for barium, that's in another building on the campus. (If you meet Amy in GI, please tell her that Debbi from the Achalasia Group says hello -- she's super nice, like all the nurses in the GI unit. You'll like her!) I'm glad that you're feeling better about this decision. If you have any questions, please feel free. We're here for you (and all the new members)! Debbi Hi Debbi, Thank you So Much for sharing your story. One bad story is good enough for me to look elsewhere!!! I'm from the Detroit area and I've decided to make the trip to The Cleveland Clinic. I made the call to make an appointment and it just so happened they had a cancel on May 10, the same day I was to see Nostrant at UM!! I guess it was ment to be that I go to TCC! Dr Vaezi is the GI I'm going to see. I asked for Dr Richter because there were good stories posted... apperently they told me Dr Richter left 2 yrs ago. I feel a lot better that I'm going to TCC, thank you all for this valuable information!

Guest guest
, if I understand correctly, you've had an unsuccessful Heller myotomy and dilations, and now you're looking at a second surgery, right? Where are you located? Are your choices of surgeons limited because of insurance? I hope you won't rule any good surgeons out just because they require manometry. in Lancaster, PA again I can't find a Dr for surgery Dr Fowler from Columbia sacred me He wants to do a Manamotry sp to see if I have heart problems Then have a GI do botox if that works then a Heller Dr Salky is off the wall Talks in circles He is a ME ME guyn
Guest guest
, I just wanted to second what said. I realize the manometry test is unpleasant but it is definitely worth it if it can help you get treatment to eat better. It sounds as though it would really help to talk to a doctor soon about your options for improvement. Keep us updated. Guest guest
I will not rule out AN Heller because of a manometry But this Dr ants to do it to find out if I have a heart problem That doesn't sound right I live in central NJ -- Re: again , I just wanted to second what said. Guest guest
i do get chest pains not often but enough This joker should have asked for a EKG Or if he was worried about peristalsis then a manometry Right ???
Guest guest
You are right, the purpose of the manometry is to see how much peristalsis you have left. Isn't that the test he is going to give you? I can't tell what he is thinking, you'll have to ask. Guest guest
Hello group. My name is and my wife has been FINALLY diagnosed with Achalasia, I say that like it is a good thing when I know it is not. It is just we have spent the past year and half for treatments other then Achalasia which has been the biggest waste of time there was. We have finally found a good GI doctor here in Houston and he has made more progress with my wife in 3 months then the pervious doctor did in the past year. My wife just recently had her 5 dilatation performed, our current doctor stretched her to a 35 mm which is the largest he will go. He sees a need for a Heller myotomy at some point but we want to see how this last procedure goes. What I am writing about is her chest pains. They are a 7 - 9 out of 10 sometimes. She becomes totally disable while they occur and sometimes they happen hourly. I understand these are NOT HEART ATTACKS but like angina attacks. What can be done about this and how can we lessen these attacks if there is a way? from houston > > Ae you having chest pains? > Achalasia casues muscle spasms that we all call chest pains, becasue > it is a non-cardiac chest pain which feels like a heart attack. The > first two I had I went to the emergency room thinking I had a heart > attck, but didn't, I was misdiagnosed for many years, but that is a > different story. > Maybe the doctor is thinking that if the mammontry rules IN > achalasia, then he can rule OUT that your chest pains are heart > related. > If he thinks the heart is an issue why no EKG or whatever they do > now. > Ask him what he is thinking > Dave-State of Jefferson >

Guest guest
Wanda, Wow, that's something, isn't it? Your younger sister (Is that Lee?) has the same birthday you do, Feb. 8!!! Wow, you must have had double birthday celebrations in your house while you were growing up, huh? Does that mean that you had TWO birthday cakes on the same day once a year!!! Wow, that must have been calorie city, but I am sure that all of those birthday cakes during your growing up years MUST have been delicious, so they were well worth the calories, huh? Love always, Pat Re: again Thank you and everyone again; for all your warm birthday wishes. And Chris; my younger sister is also born on my birthday; just 4 years younger! Guest guest
Yup, we always had 2 specialt made bakery cakes. always picked chocolate cake with homemade custard filling and buttercream frosting; I always picked yellow cake and I would always pick a fruit filling; like fresh strawberries or bananas; etc. and I would pick whipped cream frosting. We also picked different designs each year too; always picked things like Cinderella and her Coach; Snow White; etc. I picked Dancing Clowns one year; a Circus the next; etc. (gee, are you surprised why I like to Hammertime!) I don't know how my beautiful Mom ever did it all; especially with her health problems; but we both felt equally special on our birthday. And when we had parties with friends; my party would be in the Living Room and 's would be in the Family Room; and my Mom would go back and forth; and fed us in the dining room (and we got to pick the menus each our own too); one group at a time; and then did the same thing with the cake and ice cream. I love sharing a birthday with my sister; I was 4 years old and remember that day still when she was born. I remember my Mom having to be rushed out of the house during my party because labor started early; and I had a sweet little lamb on top of my cake and when my parents brought MY baby home; I gave her that little lamb. I was such a little mother; when visitors were over I'd make sure they were quiet if was sleeping; I helped my Mom with everything for the baby. She was the best gift I could have ever received for my birthday gift. So yes, Pat; it is something to have a sister born on that same date. I am still her protector! Talk to you later, Wanda. > > > > Just wanted to get my Happy Birthday in, Wanda. Hope you are having a > > fantastic day. Guest guest
Wanda, this is SUCH a sweet story I never knew about you in the 5+ years I have known you! That helps me too because McClain and Carynne's are just 3 days apart. Carynne was born 3 days before McClain's 2nd birthday. EVERYONE always says since they are SO close why don't I put them together, and I ALWAYS get them a SEPARATE cake, and same thing - each child gets to pick what we eat for dinner that night, and they all have their OWN birthday party, as I want them to NOT feel like they have to share, but they are INDIVIDUAL people (Plus 1 sister is in May, and the other brother in July, so they get their own, why should the other 2 have to share????? )) anyway - I am glad another Mom felt just like me Laurie Delk (931) 380-8811 http://Arbonne.com - Arbonne (email me for 35% off) - ID 16221373 - (healthy makeup) http://CandleOfTheMonth.net - Scent Sations Mia Bella Candles - (healthy candles) http://AHealthyHouse.net (email me for 35% off)- FreeLife/Dr. Mindell (Author: The Vitamin Bible) - (healthy body, pets and home) http://ILoveCards.net (send 10 cards for $10 including stamp!)- Send Out Cards - (healthy relationships) http://OrderJerkyDirect.com - Jerky Direct - (healthy jerky) http://JoinTheSolution.com/bmd - Switch to Solar - save $25k in 25 years (be a rep fr..ee) - (healthy energy) http://parentsprograms.com - Parents and their Programs http://EmailLeadList.com/sale.shtml - Get 1ST dibs of what's on sale in all the stores! Guest guest
Hi Wanda, What wonderful shared memories you and have of your shared birthdays and shared birthday celebrations!!! I am sure that they helped you to bond with your sister in very special ways during all those years when you lived together with your Mom and Dad!!! Both of you are so very lucky to have had your birthdays fall on the same day and the same month of the year. So, even though you are four years apart in age from one another, you both have the same astrological sign!!! I am so glad that I was successful in taking you on a trip down Memory Lane, my friend, and thank you so very much for having shared your memories of your and your sister's birthday celebrations with all of us. I am sure that everyone loved reading your very picturesque experiences below, as I have!!!! May you and have many more happy birthdays, my dear friend!!! Have you tried to talk into starting Life Lift breathing? If she does not have a weight problem, that is all right!!! You don't have to have a weight problem to benefit from Life Lift, you know!!!! Love always, Pat Re: again Yup, we always had 2 specialt made bakery cakes. always picked chocolate cake with homemade custard filling and buttercream frosting; I always picked yellow cake and I would always pick a fruit filling; like fresh strawberries or bananas; etc. and I would pick whipped cream frosting.
