Guest guest
Hi Margo Cryo is a real bummer condition. Cryoglobulinaemia is a medical condition in which the blood contains large amounts of cryoglobulins - proteins that become insoluble at reduced temperatures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryoglobulinemia I dont think that the Inf/Riba do much to 'control' the Cryo symptoms. Inf/Riba is more to kill off the HCV - but I could be wrong. I am not a medical professional. I am sorry that you fell and hurt your tailbone - man that hurts like hell. I have done that a few times too, and I saw stars. Margo, we could list every pain med that is available, and it wouldnt make much difference because they all affect the liver, and really it is something that you need to work with your doctor about. I personally would not like to be taking NORCO because it contains acetaminophen, which is not at all good for the liver, and for me, does little to control any pain. http://search.freefind.com/find.html?id=8543868 & pageid=r & mode=ALL & n=0 & query=acetaminophen & imageField.x=25 & imageField.y=11 http://www.drugs.com/norco.html It also contains hydrocodone or dihydrocodeinone which is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from either of two naturally occurring opiates—codeine and thebaine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrocodone Getting back to the Cryoglobulinemia, I am going to suggest a warm tub of water rather than pain meds for immediate relief. This warmer temperature will 'melt' the cryoglobulin proteins so that they flow in the blood again, and will draw some of the pain out of your body. I know that one cannot live in a warm tub of water, so I would also suggest dressing warmer, and maybe turning up the heat in your house. I take Oxycontin 20mg [time release] for Fibromyalgia, but I think that I maybe have a touch of Cryo too, because when my hands and feet get cold, they hurt, and the Oxy's dont seem to help them much. Im just guessing - it might be something like RA too. I know that HCV causes lots of different problems for some people, and we first have to find out what is wrong, and how to treat the problem. - Click this link for 'natural Cryoglobulinemia treatments' http://search./search?ei=utf-8 & fr=slv8-tyc7 & p=natural%20Cryoglobulinemia%20treatments & type= I hope that some of this info helps you. I hate it that anyone is suffering. love don in ks From: Margarita <rivera.m7938@...>Subject: [ ] Hep. C/Cryoglobulinemia Date: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 1:24 AM I have cryo due to the HepC and I am on Interferon and Ribasphere to help control the symptoms. I've been on the meds. for about 6 months now and the meds were doing great up until about 10 days ago. Last Fri. night going down our stairs I fell hurt my tailbone and ended up at the hospital b/c I couldn't put pressure on my (L) leg since the cryo was flareing up. The hospital dr. gave me NORCO 10-325 for the tailbone pain/Cryo pain, but the med. is not much for either pain. I haven't been in this kind of pain ever b/c the pain only use to be in my knees, ankles and bottom of feet, but now the pain is from my elbows to the tip of my fingers. I can't walk b/c I'm not able to put pressure on my feet (too much pain) and know I can't even turn a page from a book b/c of the excrutiating pain. I'm starting to get so deppressed and in horrible moods b/c of this situation. I'm not the type to take Pain Killers but, I just can't take the pain and the NORCO is justnot strong enough. If anyone knows or takes a stronger kind of Pain Killer that doesn't affect the liver too much pls. let me know the name so's I can see if my dr. will prescribe it to me. Thanks and God bless to all,Margo ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Norco is Vicodin without as much Tylenol. It is one of the few things that my Liver Specialist will let me take. However, the dosage that Margo is taking is HUGE. If that's not helping.... wow. I take half that amount. I have 5mgs and 7.5 mgs. 10mgs makes me sick as a dog. I actually pass out with that much. I have found that trying to tell a doctor what to prescribe for pain is always a bad idea. They usually will react negatively and pull back on any medication at that point. It tends to make them think we are drug seeking. You are better off letting the doctor know that the pain meds aren't helping and let them take it from there... Your doctor should be well aware of what drugs are liver friendly. Just sayin... Hugs,TeriOn Thu, Jan 20, 2011 at 2:33 AM, Christ <ludichrist2000@...> wrote: Hi Margo Cryo is a real bummer condition.
