Guest guest
Rod,I'm sorry.. tx is short for treatment. As far as the mask goes... I could only see using a mask for your protection if you were going thru treatment because your immune system tends to get knocked for a loop. It could keep you from getting sick yourself but it would offer no protection to anyone around you.. HCV is spread by blood. The chance of sexual transmission is extremely low.. practically non existent. http://www.hepatitis-central.com/mt/archives/2007/07/can_hepatitis_c.html Granted in a co-infection situation with HIV and HCV the chance is a little greater. The above link addresses both situations. Hope that helps, sorry for the misunderstanding with the tx abbreviation!Hugs,TeriOn Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 5:14 PM, Rodney Gisick <rodgis44@...> wrote: Thanks, Betty, for that support. I keep seeing people write " tx " , but don't know what it means. And you mentioned my wearing a mask around my bf. If HCV is spread by semen or blood, why would I need a mask to protect him? Thanks,Rod
