Guest guest
Jeff, Some ci users can certainly identify birds by the way they sing and with practice can even learn the different songs of the same birds.. They have different songs for different times.. mating calls are entirely different from melody songs for example.. Try doing an online search for bird sounds for wherever you live. You might find something like I found in the link I added to our links section called nature songs. I can identify various birds now although not all of them and some are much more pleasant to listen to than others, believe me. Glad you had such an enjoyable weekend; hope your week goes as well. At home on our porch, we've often heard birds chirping butt one evening Evie and I heard what sounded as if the girds were really singing like melody. We are now en rout home from a lovely weekend in the Pocooos where life's so very serene. A lot of times, I heard birds chirping a bit different from what I hear at home. > > I've wondered if you can identify birds by the way they sing > > Jeff
Guest guest
Hi Jeff! Congratulations on your AWESOME CI Moment! I love to listen to the birds. And yes, you can identify birds by the way they chirp or sing. I love listenting to the different chirpings but have not yet been able to I.D. the birds doing the particular chirping without seeing them. If I hang around my sister-in-law and nephew long enough, before they move away next year, I just might get good at it. They are good at it! Keep those CI Moments coming. I love reading them! Guest guest
They are neat birds, but consider this: If they can fly 700 miles a day, they would be the first species people would look to kill off if the bird flu every tansfers to people. Guest guest
I hadn't realized that any other species of birds would have been killed if the bird flu ever posed a threat. I also forgot that people can't get to the page without signing up for the newsletter which is just a big advertisement most of the time and I wouldn't suggest it to everyone. But, anyway some of the sooty birds are able to travel 225 feet down the sea catching fish. They also can travel nearly 700 miles in one day. environmental1st2003 <no_reply > wrote: They are neat birds, but consider this: If they can fly 700 miles a day, they would be the first species people would look to kill off if the bird flu every tansfers to people.TomAdministratorhttp://www.mercola.com/2006/aug/22/the_most_amazing_bird_in_the_world.htmInteresting bird. Guest guest
, Its interesting that birds are more verbal than most animal species. That is what makes this so fun. There are some spots along one route where they are almsot deafening. I dont look up, I hide underneath my Tilley hat. Too many crows and sea gulls around to look up. Guest guest
- what a hoot you are...creative imagination, for sure. , your story reminds me of what happened when I was in Seattle in May 2008 for a conference. One night we had a dinner event to go to, and I was sitting next to a lady from New York who was a new member of our organization. She and I were visiting, and another member came by to ask how she fared after her mishap that afternoon. She explained to me that she had gone down to the pier and along the way...received a lovely gift from one of the sea gulls. Not nice at all, no siree...
