Guest guest
Hi ie, I had a scan that said I had Osteopenia but all that’s been suggested for me is taking calcium tablets twice a day at 600 mg each. If you don’t’ mind me asking, what’s the “Boneva Regimen” – haven’t heard of it. Not osteoporosis yet but well into osteopenia. Starting a Boneva regimen tomorrow. Doc said that it will not correct the existing problem but that it will stop it from getting worse. ie -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
I'm wondering... how long is the average length of steriod use before onset of osteopenia/osteoporsis? Guest guest
I have seen figures that if you use steroids for more than 3 months you are at risk. I don't know whether this means three months in a row or a total of three months. I will say I think that there is a much higher rate of this problem than docs would like to believe. Guest guest
Telaprevir is not Interferon however it is used in conjunction with Interferon. The powers that be are working on a treatment regimen that will eliminate the need for Interferon but that is still 3 to 5 years away. The new drugs will be used as a 3rd medication to increase the odds of success and may shorten treatment times for some patients. Just one injecton and within 48 hours I could be in a wheelchair for life. I don't know why but the stuff sends my bone problem into orbit everytime, 3 times so far. The sides I can handle but being a cripple I can't. Any idea's Butch > > You do know that the Telaprevir is now fast tracked for approval, dont you? > It should be out by late May. > love > don in ks
