Some long hot soaks in the tub would help a lot to help pull those toxins out. Sea Salt or epsom salts added to the water would help pull it out faster, but I'm not sure about the connection between the kidneys and salt - Suzi?!?!?!?

Toni, parsley tea is good for kidneys. And the Kidney Cleanse tea in the files cleared up a friend's long term kidney infection.

Subject: kidney advice

Hello everyone,

I pray you are all well.

Can someone maybe please advise me on something that would be good for the kidneys? My father has an excessive amount of dye in his kidneys from procedures and such and they are failing. He refuses dyalisis (sp?) as my Mom was on that and we know what that is like. Besides that he is just suffering immensly with all else that is going on.

He is on many medications so I do not know what would be safe to give him.

I know that in the past a couple of herbs were mentioned that were good for the kidneys but do you think that there is something that could remove the excess dye and help restore function? He is drinking water as he can. He is so frail now that even that is a chore.

I do so appreciate your advice and thoughts on this.

Wishing all a wonderful and blessed night

Hi Gayla,

Thankyou so much. papa is not one to drink any kind of tea but he has been eating parsley if that is good. I had told him earlier to drink the broth of his parsley and veggies as he cannot eat much but what he is eating is mainly just veggies now.

Would the kidney cleanse tea be okay with all the meds he is on? That is my concern and once again I am grasping at straws here because he is listening to the doctor and is following his advice only. It is tearing me apart to see him suffering so badly. Monday he starts therapy where you wear a suit and it shakes you around to loosen up plaque. Something like that. This is the first I ever heard of such a thing.

Again I appreciate the help. I am reading around myself also and it seems like hydrangea and hops are good also for the kidneys. I am wary though of tinctures because of the alcohol content though.

Thankyou again Gayla

Be well and have a blessed night

Toni, I do not know what meds he is on or how the herbs will react with them. My friend was on a bizillion meds from her doctors and drank the tea with good results. Maybe someone else can give an opinion on the interaction. The herbs for Kidney Cleanse do not have to be in a tea, they can be taken in capsules, if he does not want to drink the tea.

Gayla,

he is on about 8 meds, most of them for the heart plus aspirin which he has to take or he will just die. The doctor gave him meds today for the kidneys as well though I do not know what it is. His kidneys were okay until he had all this crap done.

I will try and write down the meds tomorrow. It is difficult trying to find out what interacts with what.

If it is okay to take, I will get the herbs and capsulate them. That would be wonderful though I am not sure he would take them as like I said, he is following only what this doctor is saying. As his daughter I cannot stand by and do nothing. I love him too much and my son and I need him here. Not meaning that to sound selfish at all!

Thankyou so much again Gayla

Blessings,

Tone

Toni, Not knowing what drugs he is taking, I can't really recommend, however, plant enzymes may be of help. Essiac tea is a possibility.. but you need to find out the drugs to see if there are any interactions. He has congestive heart failure among other things. I am wary with the epsom salt. He has been taking sitz baths for hemorraging hemorroids. It just does not end for this poor man. I will wait to hear about the sea salt baths. Thanks so much. Oh I was also thinking of castor oil packs. Thoughts anyone?

Be well and blessed

I had a kidney infection recently (self diagnosed so I'm not sure if it WAS my kidney but when I targeted it, it went away so maybe). I drank a lot of watermelon juice and Dr. Schulze's kidney/bladder tea.

YUMMY! And I stopped hurting in less than a day.

CoENZYME Q10 FOR CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE

Ninety-seven patients (mean age, 48 years) with chronic renal

failure (serum creatinine > 5 mg/dl), with a history of declining

renal function for at least 12 weeks, were randomly assigned to

receive, in double-blind fashion, water-soluble coenzyme Q10 (CoQ1O;

60 mg, 3 times per day orally) or placebo for 12 weeks.

The 45 patients who were receiving hemodialysis at the start of the

study were encouraged to decrease the frequency or stop dialysis if

there was an increase in urine output and a decrease in serum

creatinine of more than 2 mg/dl. In the patients receiving

hemodialysis and CoQ1O, the mean serum creatinine concentration

decreased from 9.5 to 6.7 mg/dl; mean BUN decreased from 88.2 to

79.8 mg/dl; mean creatinine clearance increased from 40 to 54.9

ml/min; and 24-hour urine output increased from 1,300 to 1,920 ml.

Renal function tended to worsen in hemodialysis patients receiving

placebo, and the differences in the changes between groups were

significant (p < 0.01 to p < 0.001). Significant improvements in

each of these parameters relative to the placebo group were also

seen in the non-dialysis patients treated with CoQ1O. The number of

patients receiving dialysis decreased from 21 to 12 in the CoQ1O

group, and remained unchanged at 24 in the placebo group (p < 0.02).

Eighty-one percent of the patients receiving CoQ1O had a positive

response to treatment.

Comment: These results suggest that CoQ1O can improve renal function

and reduce the need for dialysis in patients with chronic renal

failure. The public-health implications of this study are enormous,

considering that chronic renal failure is a serious and debilitating

disease and that the annual cost of dialysis in the United States is

more than $22 billion.

According Dr. Singh, the lead author of this study (Interview with

Kirk Hamilton; Clinical Pearls News, August, 2001, pp. 128-9), CoQ1O

is usually effective if pre-treatment urine output, with or without

furosemide, is at least 1,000 ml/day. However, if urine output is

less than 500 ml/day, then CoQ1O usually does not work, presumably

because the kidney has been irreversibly damaged.

Dr. Singh recommends that all patients with renal failure take 180

mg/day of water- soluble CoQ1O if their urine output is greater than

500 ml/ day on dialysis. If urine output increases to 1,000 ml/day

within 12 weeks, then CoQ1O is likely to be effective. Patients

should be able to stop dialysis within 12-48 weeks if the urine

output goes above 1,500 ml/day. If urine output does not increase in

12 weeks, then CoQ1O is unlikely to be effective.

While the mechanism by which CoQ1O improves renal function is not

clear, it may work by improving cellular bioenergetics.

Singh RB, et al. Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

of coenzyme CoQ1O in patients with end-stage renal failure. JNutr

Environ Med 2003;13:13-22.

Townsend Letter for Doctors and patients - October 2005, p. 26.

•••••••••••••••••••

Not all Coenzyme Q10 are the same:

If you are planning to supplement with CoQ10, make sure that you buy

CoQ10 that is suspended in an oil base. CoQ10 is a fat soluble,

which means it requires fat to be absorbed. A terrific medium for

CoQ10 is flax seed oil. Since flax seed oil is a rich source of

essential fatty acids - which help reduce levels of bad LDL

cholesterol - there is no fear of ingesting additional unhealthy

fats when taking CoQ10 in this form. Karl Folkers, the researcher

responsible for much of the studies on taking CoQ10, has recommended

that it be dissolved in oil, and studies show an increase of up to

100 percent in absorption when it is taken this way. The CoQ10 that

I take - http://tinyurl.com/f1f7 - is microblended with organic

flax seed oil, organic blue green algae, red beta algae, fennel,

rosemary, cinnamon, and ginger. This supplement is of the highest

quality compared to other commercial CoQ10 in the market.

Hi Tone,

For Hemorraging haemorroids, put 1 teaspoonful of cayenne pepper on a paper towel and pack it gently onto the protuding piles that are bleeding. This will stop them almost instantly. It is hot but not painful and after a few minutes you can 'taste' the cayenne on your tongue. That's how powerful cayenne is. Very good for us.

Hi Jen,

As a total cayenne lover myself, I had suggested that but Papa was afraid to do that. One has to understand that he is in so much pain and the thought of possibly more even if it would not be would be scary but thankyou for that suggestion. I will keep that handy as I always have cayenne here. I did have him apply Vit E oil though and even at the time take B6 (I think it was 6) as I had read that hemorroids are often because of a defienciency in that. He has always had them but being in the hospital and refusing to use any type of bed pan kinda just backed him up.

He is having trouble breathing since last night so we are trying to get oxygen to him. His lungs were filled with fluid when he was in the hospital so that could be it or the heart is just trying to work too hard to do what it has to.

Thanks again for the wonderful suggestion

Have a wonderful evening

Tone

p.s. Suzi I still need to get the meds list. Today is a bad day and thanks again!
