I found a couple that had all juices in it... but I've never tried it and don't know anyone who has used it for anything impeticular. I did find this on the fruit..from Purdue University. Medicinal Uses: Dried fruits are shipped from Singapore to Calcutta and to China for medicinal use. The sliced and dried rind is powdered and administered to overcome dysentery. Made into an ointment, it is applied on eczema and other skin disorders. The rind decoction is taken to relieve diarrhea and cystitis, gonorrhea and gleet and is applied externally as an astringent lotion. A portion of the rind is steeped in water overnight and the infusion given as a remedy for chronic diarrhea in adults and children. Filipinos employ a decoction of the leaves and bark as a febrifuge and to treat thrush, diarrhea, dysentery and urinary disorders. In Malaya, an infusion of the leaves, combined with unripe banana and a little benzoin is applied to

the wound of circumcision. A root decoction is taken to regulate menstruation. A bark extract called "amibiasine", has been marketed for the treatment of amoebic dysentery. The rind of partially ripe fruits yields a polyhydroxy-xanthone derivative termed mangostin, also ß-mangostin. That of fully ripe fruits contains the xanthones, gartanin, 8-disoxygartanin, and normangostin. A derivative of mangostin, mangostin-e, 6-di-O-glucoside, is a central nervous system depressant and causes a rise in blood pressure.Carol Minnick <carolminnick@...> wrote: I think they are finding now that all the hype the company and distributors have been throwing at us isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. This company is only a few years old and shot to fame by making so many false medical claims. I have seen them at health fairs and it is unbelievable what they are getting away with, claiming it will cure everything from hangnails to cancer. There is sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate in the juice for preservatives. Personally, I wouldn’t touch it! Benzoates have been linked to ADHD. All the research that has been done, has been done on the Mangosteen FRUIT, not the extracted and processed juice. It is very expensive, but look at the ingredients – the second ingredient is apple juice! Then pear and grape juices. Those are pretty cheap juices. Just drink pomegranate juice every day – it’s very easy to get, usually available at a regular grocery store. It’s about $5.00 per quart, as opposed to $35 for about 25 oz. of Mangosteen Juice.
