I'm not sure why. Is this common when you're on the diet? Is it actually part of the killing of candida or is it simply that you aren't eating carbs and junk? lol ==>Some people lose weight, but not everyone does. Toxins (junk food) make a person gain weight because the body creates body fat in order to store toxins away from vital inner organs. Carbs also put on weight if they are consumed in high amounts. Weight loss would not be caused by killing off candida; it's the change in foods that causes weight loss. > > I'm not complaining for me. It is a nice side benefit of getting > healthy on this diet. However, my 4 year old went from 40 pounds to > 35 and it has only been 5 days. He also hasn't had a bowl movement. ==>If you changed your son's diet too quickly it will cause some constipation. See the article " Curing Candida, How to Get Started " in our Group's File (left menu) in the 2nd Folder. You might need to add back some carbs for awhile until his " good " fat intake is high enough as explained in that article. > > I've dropped about 5-7 depending on when I weigh myself, but again > I'm not worried for myself because I know I'm not at a healthy weight > right now anyway. > > Should I be concerned about the weight loss in my son? Guest guest
Bee, Thank you for your time. Your answers have helped to ease my mind. It is a lot more nerve racking to me putting my son on the diet than putting myself on it. But, I do know I'm doing well by my son and doing what his body needs. He's been on it once before, but it wasn't the strict version as he's on now. We added more extra virgin olive oil into the diet today and that seemed to do the trick...for everybody. I'll keep an eye on the situation over the next day or two before I give him carbs...would rice/potatoes work for carbs or are you speaking of breads? The first couple of days were rough for him. He had problems with the major changes in diet. He wanted to eat junk, junk, junk and wasn't happy about the foods we were serving him. However, it only took a few days before he was asking for veggies instead of bad food! I'm proud of his progress. It isn't easy...as everyone on this diet knows. It's been rough for me to cook fresh meals and snacks everyday while I'm going through die off and my own cravings, but I know it's best for both of us and our entire family. It really is a life style change. One that had to take place in order to raise healthy boys who will take charge of their health and see the real importance of what goes into their bodies. Thank you for the help, Bee. I don't know if you remember, but about this time last year I went on the diet for the first time. And it wasn't too long before I found this group. It was with your help and files that it was a successful diet for several months. Come fall, with all the birthdays and holidays I got off track. And I'm back at square one, but with the information I learned here last year I know we can do it. Plus I found a holistic MD that we're going to start seeing. Bless you! Guest guest
Hi Nell, That's wonderful how much the olive oil helped! Fats and oils do alleviate constipation. Well done Mom! It is wonderful it only took your son a couple of days to stop wanting junk foods. Dr. Mercole writes that it takes 5 days off all sugars and high carb foods, particularly grains, for someone to stop cravings. Yes, I do remember you from last year. I'm so pleased you are back on the program. You are certainly welcome for the information and help Nell! You and your family deserve to be healthy and enjoy life!
