Hi Sam

I bought mine on AzureStandard.com.

It was $6.50 for 1lb.

In reply to your hives, I would definately think that nutritional yeast can

give a healing response...it is pretty strong in the b-vits.

Hi, I was the same way for awhile. i remember pouring like almost a

cup into my soup one day...I love it! I have been drinking it every

day now. I put 2 Tblspoons in a little water and swallow it, I also

do raw liver " pills " as well. I sill sprinkly it on foods if I want

because I do think the taste improves some foods, but I don't use as

much as I used to and feel satisfied. This is how I get my B vitamins

and I have found that I don't crave it as much anymore so maybe the

extreme cravings are a B vit deficiency. I have also gotten niacin

flushes from it so I know I am definitely getting my B's. Cheers,

Crystal,

I've read about the raw liver " pills " in Wise Traditions. Do you have

a certain procedure you use to cut up the liver into tiny pieces that

works well? How many pills do you take a day? It sounds so tedious but

I would like to make it work. Thanks for any info you can give me.

I absolutely loved the nutritional yeast and could eat it like candy.

Unfortunately, for me,it was feeding my Candida. I know " feeding " versus

die-off symptoms and this was a definite feeding. It sounds like most

people can tolerate it - I hope you're one of them. Just a heads up

that there are some of us out here who can't.

anything.

==> Anita, are you sure you got the right kind, i.e. " nutritional yeast

flakes " and not just nutritional yeast??

Bee,

Yes. The bulk foods container says " nutritional yeast flakes " and the

company is Lasaffre (Red Star). They have small flakes, large flakes

and a powder. I bought the large flakes. I've used other brands as

well and something about it feeds my (and my adult son's) candida. We

both end up with symptoms. I was assured by the company that the

product being grown on molasses would not add sugars, however, after

investigating some more this morning I found that there are about 2

grams of natural sugars per 3 heaping Tablespoons (Red Star info). As

I'm too sensitive to eat lemons or stevia, I'm thinking this has just

enough naturally occurring sugars to cause a problem for me.

Anita

BTW: What is the difference between nutritional yeast and nutritional

yeast flakes? Just curious.

Hi Anita,

I'm curious what symptoms you get from lemons, stevia and nutritional

yeast?

Hi Anita. That's good you " know " you cannot have Nutritional Yeast

Flakes.

Maybe you can look up the differences if you need to know. Since

nutritional yeast isn't on my program I'm not concerned.

Hi Bee,

I'm uncertain as how to interpret your email. When you put " know " in

parenthesis does that mean something? If you're thinking I'm off

track, or for that matter, on track I would be interested in hearing

your view point.

I did research the differences in both products but couldn't find an

answer so it made sense to me to go to you with the question since you

stress not to buy the nutritional yeast and to make sure it's the

nutritional yeast flakes. I'm assuming you have reasons for saying

that. So what's " bad " about nutritional yeast but " good " about

nutritional yeast flakes? Is it more than powder vs. flakes?

This is not to try and force an answer from you. I'm simply responding

to your email in response to mine.

Hi Bee, I am confused...I thought Nutritional Yeast flakes were O.K. on

your program, do you mean just the powder in this statement? Crystal

discovered something you are sure about.

==>Nutritional yeast, brewer's yeast and nutritional yeast flakes are

all different types of products. Nutritional yeast flakes is the

only one of those products that does not feed candida.

I originally got the information from Sally Fallon's

cookbook " Nourishing Traditions. " She writes that nutritional yeast

flakes do not feed candida. After I read that I asked my friend, who

has candida, to experiment with it before I recommended it to this

group. He is very sensitive to yeast, like most candida sufferers,

and he took it long enough to know that it did not cause him any

problems.

I didn't do any further research on it at the time. I didn't think

it was necessary in view of the fact that Sally Fallon was obviously

correct. Sorry, I do not have the time to research the products and

give you a more detailed answer.

==>Hi Crystal. Yes, you are correct. Only Nutritional Yeast Flakes

are okay, not nutritional yeast - there is a difference.

Hi ,

Some of my symptoms are the same as die-off symptoms but there's a

different feel in my body I've come to know over my many years with

candida. The main difference is that when I eat a food that feeds the

yeast, I get an immediate sensation in my nose and within 24 hours

I'll have a migraine starting and a popping noise in my right ear when

I open my mouth. I also get a lot of itching with a yeast bump here

and there and experience a " yeasty " feeling all through my body.

Sometimes it's an " on edge " feeling in my gums and teeth...

The main way I know that certain foods aren't good for me is that I'll

crave them and not want to stop eating them once I start, whereas if

I'm craving a food (nutrient) that's needed by my body, I can stop and

not feel compulsive.

I don't know if this answers your question. It's just my experience

and may not make sense to others.

Take care,

Anita

Thanks, Anita! I'm curious about others' experiences. What is

a " yeast bump? "

My symptoms for foods that don't work for me are my tongue coating

getting worse (feeding the yeast) and the quality of my dreams (I'm

not sure if this is die-off, feeding the yeast, or both). Certain

foods (including small amounts of coconut oil & eggs) will cause full-

blown nightmares; other foods just give me dreams that are weird,

somewhat unpleasant. When I stick with foods that are safe, my

dreams are calmer and I sleep through the night (or, I wake up, but

fall right back asleep). With other foods I'll be awake for 2-3

hours in the night.

In fact, it was when I changed to Bee's diet that I started sleeping

well for the first time in 15 years!

Anyway, I don't hear anyone else talk about disturbed

sleep/dreams/nightmares and yet that is one of my most reliable

indicators. I find people's reactions fascinating. And sometimes I

wonder if I have other reactions that I'm just not aware of yet, so

it's helpful to hear others' experiences. Thanks for sharing.

If I eat nutritional yeast I have the disturbed sleep symptoms. I

also get it from soy and ACV. I get migraine, balance problems, motion

sickness, fuzzy head and night disorders (feels like an LSD trip).

I found out it's the tyrosine from aged food that messes me up. They

say if your enzymes can't break it down, too much brain chemicals get

made. Great for people with ADD, but for a normal brain chemistry. I

guess it's like getting very high. Too much also gives people with

constricted vessels migraines. I can't wait for my enzymes to work

again. I'm glad Bee's program covers this. I'm fine as long as I

stick to it (except no ACV or nutritional yeast for me!). Joanna

They look like small mosquito bites and can appear most anywhere.

They're very itchy but go away in two to three days. I also get that

itching under the skin on my stomach - that's a really weird sensation!

I too like to hear the experiences of others. Thanks for sharing.
