Thanks .. I remembered the red clover and thistle. I have not tried all 8.. only the basic 4 with good results.. Suzi Landes <L@...> wrote: I have found the info about additional Essiac ingredients. It is written that the formula Rene Caisse presented to the Canadian medical authorities for evaluation in 1937 contained 4 ingredients. Those are Burdock root, Turkey Rhubarb, Sheep Sorrel & Slippery Elm. Once Rene started working with Dr. Brusch, she added 4 other herbs to the basic four-herb formula. These herbs were: Kelp – 2 parts Red Clover – 1 part Blessed Thistle – 1 part Watercress - .04 part This information is in only one of the books I have. Other

writings quote Dr. Brusch as saying that when working with the Essiac mixture was “perfected”. I’m assuming the addition of the other herbs is what he meant by perfected. I also have, in two separate writings, that didn’t substitute Turkey Rhubarb for domestic rhubarb until after she had worked with many patients, and she switched to Turkey Rhubarb because it was more potent than the domestic rhubarb. (Turkey Rhubarb is only found in China. From what I read, 99% of the imported Turkey Rhubarb to this country is irradiated, which destroys its properties) once again, native rhubarb is what is used in the tea.
