Guest guest
> I'd also like to try brains. The problem is that the processors, as an industry, have become larger and fewer and farther between.< The large slaughter houses use pneumatic stun guns that shatter their brains (or used to before Mad Cow Disease) They found brain tissue in other organs. If you can find a place that slaughters their own they will sell them for very cheap or give them to you. Maybe a kosher butcher... I have a butcher shop within 40 miles & they will save the brains. If you have never tried them you are in for a real treat! Nothing comes close to their taste OR smooth texture. I can't explain it! My Mom tricked me into eating some years ago & I was glad she did! I would always gag thinking HOW can they eat brains. They are something we all love in our famly. Joyce
Guest guest
Did anyone else have trouble with all these new foods in the beginning of this diet? I grew up with steak and potatoes, chicken and potatoes, meatloaf and potatoes, and spaghetti. Veggies were corn, green beans, broccoli, and peas. On Sundays my mom would make a roast, whipped potatoes, and one of those veggies. This was about it. So I don't even know what 3/4 of the foods ARE on this list. I'm really having a hard time, since I don't even know what they LOOK like. I have tried a few things so far, but not many. I've basically been sticking to the things above, but removing the potatoes. It's getting pretty bland. I've never liked spicy foods and I've literally never even heard of many of the foods here. I am a lousy cook and can only make VERY simple things, like the things I just listed. I've never even used cooking oil, so I am completely baffled. I'm trying to think of what on earth I could use the coconut oil for, since I never use oil. If I eat things I don't like (I've tried a few new things since starting this diet), it will literally come back up, so my extreme pickiness is making this diet even harder than it needs to be. Just wondering if anyone had any similar problems?
Guest guest
That's common. The first time I did a candida diet 7 years ago, I had previously been a VERY picky eater. I had to eat ketchup with everything. After a few weeks of almost starving, eventually everything tasted good! Human beings are pretty remarkable in that way... give it time and you'll be forced to grow to like new things. The diet you just described is just like most of the rest of us grew up with too.
