Guest guest
Hi, I have a 3.5 month old son with thrush. I had 3 seperate rounds of antibiotics during delivery and my son had 2 seperate surgeries, again using antibiotics (to my dismay!). I have used something called Gentian Violet on both the baby and myself. I've also done nystatin drops (unfortunately, the prescriptions always had sugar in the drops, but nystatin did seem to help a little); fluconazole (total intake of about 6 weeks, which has made me very sick with vomiting and diarrhea and I have since stopped); and I even tried modifying my diet drastically, which didn't work as the baby rejected the breast (as I'm sure the breast milk was " off " for him as I didn't modify things gradually). I have done the required reading and need to start your 4 steps. However, as a exclusively breastfeeding mother, the nipple pain from candida is unbearable and I wondered if there was any advice for immediate relief as I can appreciate that the 4 steps may take some time? Thank you, Gabby
