Guest guest
Bee, We started myself and my four year old son on the candida diet this past Monday. I've kept a close eye on him to make sure he didn't have too severe of die off symptoms. Although he seems tired and not quite himself he seems to be doing okay. I have two concerns, though. When I got on the diet last year I lost a tremendous amount of weight. I'm not sure why. Is this common when you're on the diet? Is it actually part of the killing of candida or is it simply that you aren't eating carbs and junk? lol I'm not complaining for me. It is a nice side benefit of getting healthy on this diet. However, my 4 year old went from 40 pounds to 35 and it has only been 5 days. He also hasn't had a bowl movement. I've dropped about 5-7 depending on when I weigh myself, but again I'm not worried for myself because I know I'm not at a healthy weight right now anyway. Should I be concerned about the weight loss in my son? I really don't want to have him cheat on the diet to help him use the bathroom and gain some weight back... I guess I'm here checking to make sure I'm not doing more harm than good. He's been getting three good healthy meals every day and then snacks inbetween breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner and then in the evening. He's been drinking water well. I cook with olive oil and coconut oil and use butter. And he hasn't had any garlic. Just a worried Mom hoping she is doing everything right. Thank you, Bee!
