Guest guest
Hello, Bee. As you know, my irritable bowel makes it very easy to have loose and runny stools quite frequently. I have been taking anywhere from 3 to 6 grams of ascorbic acid (spread out throughout the day) with my electrolyte drink. I believe that this level of vitamin C is causing a lot of increased gas and truly liquid stools (total runs) and big 'toots'. I love taking vitamin C as it makes me feel better, but I'm concerned about my increased runny & loose stools & gas. It makes me feel as though I'm not absorbing the vitamin C very well. I'd like to be able to tolerate 5 or 6 grams of C per day without getting increased diarrhea, but my tolerance doesn't quite seem to be building. Here are my questions: 1) Does candida feed on the ascorbic acid? I get the diarrhea and noteably the gas, which makes me think that candida might be involved with my inability to handle mega-doses of C well. 2) What can I do to help increase my tolerance of C to help with overall immunity, detoxification, and support for die-off reactions? Thanks,

If you get loose stools on what you are taking now, cut back to the amount that doesn't cause it, and only increase it every 5 days or more. > > Here are my questions: > > 1) Does candida feed on the ascorbic acid? Do as I suggest above and you won't have diarrhea or as much gas. > > 2) What can I do to help increase my tolerance of C to help with > overall immunity, detoxification, and support for die-off reactions? ==>Vitamin C isn't the only thing that helps, and taking too much of anything creates more problems than it is worth. Even if you only took 4,000 mg vitamin C per day, plus diet and supplements, you'd still get well. In fact if you only do the diet, supplements in doses recommended, including coconut oil you'd get well. Don't push your body. You may not be able to take mega-doses of vitamin C, and that is okay too. Bee
