I had been thinking that adding some silica to my diet couldn't hurt if I kept

my dosage reasonable, so I started taking a mixture of DE and Bentonite clay

(3/4 DE to 1/4 clay), 2 half tablespoonful dosages in my Apple Cider Vinegar

that I also add half an ounce of aloe juice to, per day. I'm now experiencing NO

IBS symptoms. None, and this is after 15 years of suffering that horrible

condition. I was taking ACV and Aloe before, and my IBS would still exhibit

symptoms (though no more pain), but once I added the DE, clay mixture, it's

gone. It's only been a week, but prior to this, I never went ONE day without

symptoms. My plan is to continue this daily dosage for one month and then cut it

in half for a a month and then just take the smaller dose every few days after

that. This is not a dosing plan I especially researched, but it does make sense

to me.

Of course, I'm also taking my coconut oil (3-5TBS a day), and that's helping my

energy levels, but adding the DE mix seems to have added a boost to my already

increasing energy...and this is after going completely off of all caffeine. Ah,

and the weight loss...fabulous.

Is DE completely safe for everyone?

I am so happy for you that it is working and it has brought your relief.  I do

not have IBS, but I have read so much about DE, but so many conflicting

accounts, I just don't know.I could use a boost in energy sometimes:-)

I've not read any research stating that it's unsafe, only research extolling the

virtues. I can't imagine it's unsafe if used in small doses. If you eat any

commercial muffin or cake mix or similar types of foods (at least in the US),

you've likely ingested it without knowing, since it's often added to control

pests that are common to flour products.
