Guest guest
Bee, Kara, Sharon, and my son's name is !), Thank you so much for your replies and encouragement. I know I can do it, it's just that little heart break of the cries that just gets to me. What a wonderful array of suggestions. I got the baking soda and cornstarch from the treating vaginal yeast article in the section on itching: To relieve intense itching: „X Apply cold-water compresses. „X Do a sitz bath (use a container or dishpan just big enough to immerse your entire bottom) or sit in a warm bath with just enough water to immerse your bottom. Add one cup of cornstarch & a half-cup of baking soda or take a full bath using epsom salts (1 cup). „X Pat corn starch, baking soda or nystatin powder directly on the itchy areas. „X Rub coconut oil into the itchy areas. „X Alternatively, you can rub VCO into areas affected & then pat on some corn starch, baking soda or nystatin powder. I'm going to have to try these on myself first since I too am dealing with the vaginal yeast. It's been tolerable, and I really haven't wanted to deal with the VCO mess. Thanks for the snack and diaper ideas. Things will be changing more tonight from all the suggestions! So, a heartfelt thank you from a mom! (I got that mommy's guilt this morning and crying going into work wanting to stay home with the kids knowing that I am their mom and would be best equipped to care for my kids. I'm only part time, so I am blessed. Blessed to love my job, too.) I am overall emotional I guess since last night. P. PS- I am so glad you said I didn't have wean her. She is more high needs emotionally and it is nice to be able to offer her that connection. Plus, I recently read that nursing for 2 years decreases the risk of rheumatory arthritis by 50%. I didn't get to look at the research, but with my mom having it, it's worth a try. > >I just put my DD to sleep, and it was miserable for her. I went to change her diaper and she was all red and oozing from her labia back to her anus. > > ==>Hi P. > I used nystatin powder mixed into some plain cold cream and that > seemed to soothe his bottom the best. You might also consider not > giving her the Electrolyte Drink for awhile, and see if that helps > too. I found that any citric-type juices changed my grandson's urine so it burned his bottom. > > As an alternative you might try applying cod liver oil to the area. > No, do not wean her off breast milk. Breast milk is different than cow's milk and it is important to her health, but regular milk at the day care isn't good for her.
