Guest guest
I have recently had a baby and he got thrush which I then got in my breasts. I have tried all the usual stuff the Dr's prescribe and now have gone to see a homeopath. I am now on this very strict diet and am also taking acidophilus and Exmykehl drops. Is this any good and is there anything specific I can do? It is too painful to breastfeed my son so I have been expressing and feeding him in a bottle for two months now. Please help me if you can Thank you Mina

I had that with my second and third babies. With my second baby, I just suffered through it for months and it finally went away. With my third baby, I had found a holistic doctor and he prescribed a Nystatin ointment to put on my nipples and liquid Nystatin for my baby. It worked well. The pain was excruciating; I dreaded each feeding but was determined to breastfeed after my failed attempt with my first baby. With my fourth baby, I was more aware of candida during pregnancy and did eat a healthier diet and also used Monistat before I gave birth. I had no thrush problems at all and he has been the healthiest baby I've had.
Guest guest
Thank you for your reply. I will carry on with the current treatment I got from a homeopath. Its encouraging to know that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel! I have been tempted to quit breastfeeding so many times now, but am quite determined to feed my baby the best. Cheers!
