Joanna,

At the moment, I'm taking Redmond Real Salt (until it runs out) in

combination with Celtic Sea Salt, both of which have iodine in them.

Real Salt contains .0009% iodine, according to their composition

analysis, which is posted here: http://tinyurl.com/3gh6f7

So let's take one 1/4 tsp. of salt, which equals at LEAST 1,000 mg

(and is usually a bit more). (1K mg * .0009) = 0.9 milligrams/quarter

teaspoon of salt.

The US RDA for iodine is 150 MICROgrams per day, I believe. 150

micrograms equals .15 milligrams. So, even one 1/4 teaspoon of Real

Salt provides more than the US RDA for iodine alone. Even one 1/4 tsp.

of celtic salt would provide .2 mgs of iodine, which is still greater

than the US RDA for iodine. Trace amounts are all that we need, and

natural salts provide it for us.

Also, I believe you are incorrect stating that Concentrace does not

contain iodine. It is clearly listed on the label that iodine is one

of the trace elements that is present in that product. You can also

see this by visiting the link below, which lists the trace minerals

that occur in Concentrace: http://tinyurl.com/23cr46

Please let me know why you came to the conclusion that Concentrace

does not contain iodine. It is very important to research your

statements very well prior to posting them to the group because it can

very easily mislead other group members (including myself)!

Thanks and regards,

> Hi, . I talked to the Grain & Salt Society today to ask

about the iodine in Celtic Salt. I was told there is no iodine in

Celtic Salt. It is " trace amounts " which I was told was too small to

be measurable, less than .0002 micrograms per serving. Concentrace

does not contain iodine either. Bee, because of my recent thryroid

test results and in case anyone on the program is pregnant, could you

tell us some foods that we could have that contain iodine? I

personally would like to have iodine in my diet. Joanna
