Guest guest
Interesting Chris... you didn't take any herbs with you on your trip?? I always take some super tonic if nothing else along with me.. suziprayerfulmantis <prayerfulmantis@...> wrote: I received several ant bites on my foot which promptly became swollen and sore. Never seen such tiny ants give such painful bites. Tried and true plantain couldn't be found but there was a bunch of acorns I was processing for flour. The first boiling was used as a wash on the reddened foot and it provide some relief for about 2 hours. Then the pain came back, reapplication seemed to bring some relief. It wasn't the best herbal treatment I've seen but it was better than nothing. FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.
Guest guest
I did bring some tinctures and essential oils but brought a minimalist kit in the interest of packing lightly. I didn't bring my nice itchyowie mix of plantain & jewelweed, didn't bring the aloe vera/st john's wort/lavender EO mix, didn't bring my marshmallow root, didn't bring a lot of stuff I'm use too. I did bring a healing salve, and several tincture bottles and some essential oils. Oh, and a small duffel bag of st john'swort oil and dried herbs for gifting an herbalist friend. Been using the mint tincture on a couple of people with tummy aches down here. I've got super tonic under way and think I should have brought a jug of that along. Of course didn't bring any plantain because it grows everywhere, yeah right. We planted some seeds of it today though so next spring there ought to be some here. Found some in town but it was in a slucky location right next to the road and not a good harvesting site. Some of my thinking was I'ld use the local plants if I needed some. I hadn't planned on the plant community being quite so different though. Still, it's all there, just got to study it more closely.
Guest guest
next time they get you, just spray or dab some Clorox on the bite or area, leave on for a couple of seconds then rinse off. Just this afternoon as I was empting my vacuum cleaner and using the brick wall around my patio as a table, a whole crowd of the little boogers attacked me. For an instant didn't realize what was happening. I ran into the kitchen where I keep a small spray bottle of it and it did the job. Then I got a spray bottle of 409 and sprayed the area where they were swarming and they died or left. They won't mess around much where 409 has been sprayed. Of course it is toxic and should not be sprayed on food areas. It leaves a residue the ants don't like. The Clorox works immediately. No pain, no swelling, no pussy little bumps. --Lee ----- Original Message ----- From: prayerfulmantis I received several ant bites on my foot which promptly became swollen and sore.
